I also want to take a moment to address recent false claims made by some of my opponents regarding my “supposed” support for State Representative Fabian Basabe. Let me be clear: I have NEVER endorsed Fabian Basabe for any elected office. These lies are unfortunate attempts to distract from the real issues at hand. Equality Florida staunchly opposes Basabe, and they would not have endorsed me if these falsehoods were true. I want to assure you that my commitment to progressive values and the LGBTQ community has never wavered, and I will always stand firmly against any form of discrimination or inequality.
These endorsements hold a special significance for me as an out and proud member of the LGBTQ community. If successful, I will make history as the first ever LGBTQ Mayor of Miami Beach. This milestone represents not only a personal achievement but also a testament to the progress we have made as a society in embracing diversity and inclusivity.
I firmly believe that Miami Beach deserves a leader who understands the unique needs and aspirations of ALL of its residents. My experience and dedication have equipped me with the necessary tools to address the challenges we face and to ensure that our city thrives. As Mayor, I will work tirelessly to create a Miami Beach that promotes equality, celebrates diversity, and fosters a sense of belonging for EVERYONE.
