Clear Creek Flag Status Moved to Red

Red flag status means that Clear Creek is closed for swimming and tubing. Only experienced kayakers and other vessels should be on the creek. Users should wear protective gear and be able to rescue themselves in the water. High caution should be used in the water.

The main purpose of this open house is for city staff to hear public feedback on the proposed 15% Design. Public feedback will be incorporated as the project moves through the design process. The city is currently working on developing the design plans for this project and is in the process of pursuing construction funding.

  • Creekside Court
  • Parkview Court

Rimrock & Cressman Gulch Vegetation Management

Through this week, the City will have a specialty contractor conducting vegetation management in and along some of our channels, specifically in the Rimrock and Cressman Gulch areas.

The goal is to maintain conveyance capacity in our channels and remove debris and vegetation that could be fuel in the event of a wildfire using a specialty excavator called a Menzi Muck! Its unique design allows it to operate in difficult steep terrains where traditional machinery cannot work, making it ideal for maintaining our city’s natural waterways without causing significant disruption.

For any questions or concerns, please contact Joseph Lammers with the Public Works Department at jlammers@cityofgolden.net
