Mondays with the Mayor

  • Today’s partial solar eclipse
  • The monthly GURA meeting that took place on Monday.
  • The City Council meeting last night.
  • The Colorado School of Mines E-days events over this weekend. Please note as part of the events there will be a fireworks show on Saturday evening (approx. 9 p.m.). Those with loved ones or pets who are sensitive to noise should take the appropriate precautions in anticipation of the show

You can always watch a recording of the live stream on the City's Facebook page.

Golden's New Parking Program Pop-Up Registration

The City is partnering with Interstate Parking Company to launch a new parking management program, Park Golden CO, on May 1! Parking regulations remain mostly the same with a few changes, including the New Golden Resident permit! Read the full details in the Golden Informer.

Already have a neighborhood parking permit for 2024? No need to do anything!

If you don’t have a 2024 parking permit and need one (maybe you’re new to town, you have a new driver in your household, or it’s slipped your mind to get a ‘24 permit!), please visit ParkGoldenCO.com and register. NOTE: Registration is license plate based; you will not receive a physical or digital tag.

Prefer to register in person? Join Interstate Parking Company today until 5 p.m. at the Golden Visitors Center at 1010 Washington Ave to sign up (proof of residency required).

Slash Collection Options

This weekend’s weather was a whirlwind! While not causing as significant damage city-wide as the last winter storm in March, you may have experienced some impacts of wind-related downed branches. Here are a few options for discarding those limbs:

  • For Pay-as-You-Throw customers, use your Organics collection cart to discard tree branches during your regularly scheduled organics pick-up. Call 303-277-8727 to upgrade your cart or request additional carts.
  • Spring and Fall Yard Waste collection days are scheduled for the week of May 6-10. Tree branches can be set out along with your regular organic waste for free on your regular day of service. Learn more on the city website.
  • Jefferson County offers slash drop-offs beginning May 23rd through October. Sign up for SLASH alerts to be notified of schedules, changes and updates to the locations. There are fees associated with these drop-offs.
  • Tree failure, which requires complete tree removal, may best be addressed by a private tree care provider.

The City will continue to monitor the impacts and needs of the city residents.

  • Friday, April 26, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
