A Message from our Founder & Presidents

As March unfolds and we begin to witness the subtle signs of spring, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible journey we've shared as part of the Adopt a Golden Atlanta family.

Lauren and Patti here, reaching out to express our deepest gratitude to every one of you who has played a role in making our community a warm and supportive haven for golden retrievers in need.

Your unwavering dedication and generosity have not only transformed the lives of these beautiful creatures but have also created a network of compassion that resonates far beyond our wildest dreams.

As we look forward to spring, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible efforts that have brought us to this point. Whether you've opened your hearts and homes to our furry friends, volunteered your time and talents, or made invaluable contributions to our cause, your impact is immeasurable. Each success story, every wagging tail, and the joy in the eyes of a golden finding their forever home are testaments to the strength of our community.

However, our journey doesn't end here, and we're reaching out to you once again for your continued support. As the season changes and nature begins to bloom, so do the opportunities to make a difference. Whether it's through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word about our mission, your continued support will help us ensure that more golden retrievers find the love and care they deserve.

With your ongoing dedication, we can make this spring a season of hope, growth, and new beginnings for even more golden retrievers in need. Together, we can create a future where every golden has a chance to flourish in a loving home.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being the driving force behind Adopt a Golden Atlanta. Let's welcome spring with open arms and continue making a positive impact on the lives of these dogs.

With heartfelt thanks,

Lauren and Patti

Orphan of the Month:

Logan

I am about 5 years old and around 30 pounds. Like Lettie, my coat was so matted they had to shave me too. The place we came from doesn’t spend any time brushing dogs! We are each looking for homes with families where we can have a safe place to play (meaning yard with fence), have toys and our very own beds and people who will love us a lot! Why don’t you ask when you can meet us? My new doctor said I was a sweet boy and if that’s what you are looking for – here I am! Your friend, Logan

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for (audience)? Why should they care (benefit)? What do I want them to do (call-to-action)?

Create a great offer by adding words like "free," "personalized," "complimentary," or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take action, so consider inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"

Check Your Dog Once A Month on the 14th!

It is important that you start your fight against canine cancer and any other health issue from the day you bring your dog home.

Facts about Cancer in Dogs

Did you know that 1 in 3 dogs will be diagnosed with cancer? 50% of those dogs will die from cancer. In humans, there are 1.5 million new cases of cancer each year, but in dogs, there are 6 million new cases of cancer diagnosed each year. Dog cancer prevention is key to a long healthy life with your dog.

Checking your dog once a month for lumps and bumps or any abnormal behavior is key in the prevention of any health issue with your dog. We recommend doing it on the 14th of every month. Checking your dog will be a great little bonding time with your dog. If you are starting with a young dog, this time will also prepare them for their future vet wellness visits.

Now how exactly do you do this?

Start at their nose and work all the way to their tail. Make sure you are in a familiar, low-key environment where you and your pet can do this without distraction. In other words, not during dinner time or when you expect the mailman to be buzzing by the house.
