Ending Homelessness in Encinitas Forum
Last week, CRC, the City of Encinitas, and the Encinitas Community Advisory Committee on Homelessness hosted a community forum, “Ending Homelessness in Encinitas: Great Strides and Next Steps.” With over 100 community members in attendance and engaging and informative presentations from our panelists, the forum was a great success!

These 5th Graders Rule the School - and Beyond!
We were thrilled this past month to partner with the 5th graders at La Costa Heights Elementary school who became advocates for homeless youth. This incredible group of young people and their teachers went to Sacramento to talk to lawmakers about Senate Bill 918, Homeless Youth Act of 2018. They also met with Mayor Catherine Blakespear and CRC staff to talk about the issues in their own community.
Cub Scouts Give Back at CRC
A big thank you to Cub Scout Pack 772 for collecting food for CRC during the Scouting for Food challenge! These young men collected over 1,500 items from their neighbors and community members and delivered them on Monday. It took teamwork to carry some of the larger bins, which were filled to the brim with donations. This effort will help feed local families in need!
