GPS is the umbrella organization for all our franchises which include Mass Premier Soccer (MPS), Maine Premier Soccer (MPS), Florida Premier Soccer (FPS), New York Premier Soccer (NYPS) and New Hampshire Premier Soccer (NHPS)

 

This month's newsletter will include a review of recent events from each franchise as well as any upcoming events and important news headlines from each franchise.

Mass Premier Soccer celebrate end of season in Foxwoods, CT

 

Around 70 staff members from MPS, and the partner franchises, attended the first GPS staff retreat in Foxwoods, CT. Staff from all franchises gathered together for two days of presentations and programs which included team building/problem solving activities, yearly franchise reviews and future franchise prospects.

 

General Manager Joe Bradley said "It was a great way to end the year by bringing everyone together from all the franchises, thanking them for their efforts over the past year and making sure all employees are on the same page as we continue to grow as an organization" 

 

At the staff awards ceremony, on the last night of the retreat, prizes were given to employees who have excelled over the past 12 months. The three most prestigious awards were as follows:

  • Coach of the Year - Graham Munro
  • Employee of the Year - Andrew Moir
  • Franchise of the Year - Florida Premier Soccer

MPS would like to congratulate the winners of the awards and all staff for a great year!

MPS Enjoy Fifth Annual Soccerween

Halloween themed tournament enormous successGavween

 

The fifth annual MPS Soccerween event was held with enormous success at Citizen's Bank Fields, Lancaster on Sunday 13th November 2011.

  

The Halloween themed tournament, where teams are encouraged to participate wearing costumes, attracted 86 teams aged U9-U13 with awards handed out for the best-dressed teams, tournament champions and a fair play award in each age group.

Super Y First 11 Announced
Global Premier Soccer Franchises achieve high success

Maine Premier Soccer U15's 

United Soccer Leagues announced the Super Y-League First 11 and Second 11 rankings for the 2011 regular season. This recognizes the league's top Clubs on a competitive and administrative basis.

  

As a Club MPS Portland Phoenix finished ninth in the Super Y-League Second 11 just with our counterparts MPS Crusaders/Lady Crusaders in Eighth.

 

 A final set of rankings will be released after the conclusion of the SYL North American Finals, schedule to take place in December in Tampa, Florida. Our MPS Portland Phoenix U15 Boys will be representing the Club further at those finals.

 

General manager and U15 Boys Head Coach Paul Baber stated "This caps off a stellar season for the boys this year, after winning state cup, an impressive performance at regional's where there only loss came against the eventual winners, they have now deservedly so, earned the chance to compete against the best teams across the country at nationals".

FPS Pre-Season Classic

FC America Host the 2nd annual Pre-Season Classic 

FPS Pre Season Classic  

FPS would like to announce the 2nd annual FPS Pre-Season Classic for U9 - U15 boys and girls teams. With a brand new location for 2012, the event will be held at the Northwest Recreation Complex in Apopka, FL over the weekend of January 28th - 29th.

 

In the tournament's inaugural season teams competed from all over Central Florida. A fantastic competitive environment was created for teams looking to start their season early.  

 

The tournament is on track to go beyond last year's success with a target of over 200 teams expected to be signed up by the tournament deadline on January 9th.

NYPS Players In State Semi Finals
U16 high school players In state semi-finals

 

New York Premier Soccer Staff would like to wish the best of luck to our players who will be representing Akron High School in their State Semi Finals against Broadalbin-Perth on November 19th  in Middletown, NY.
 

Bailey Apholz, Nick Doria, Randy Mayer, and Austin Medole, all sophomores at Akron High School, have been an integral part of their School's successful campaign.

 

The boys all play for the NYPS U16 Knights Premier Team, who will also be performing in a college showcase in Boston during the Thanksgiving weekend. The Knights Head Coach Brian Patterson stated "I am very proud of all the boys and wish them the very best of luck and hope they get the result they deserve on the day"

NHPSA Education Center Now Available
NHPSA will be providing a variety of educational articles for players, parents and coaches

 

NHPS GirlsNHPSA is delighted to announce that it will be opening the "NHPSA Education Center" section of its website. The Education Center will be used as a central location to provide a range of educational articles and links in relation to all aspects of soccer.

 

Each piece of information will be sent out in the monthly newsletter and then will be available thereafter in the NHPSA Education Center link that can be found on the left hand side of the home page.
