Instagram: “A once-in-a-lifetime experience that changed my life forever. I never thought a trip like this would change my whole trajectory of what it means to connect with another culture in a deep way. Going into this study abroad program, I had no idea what to expect. I wanted to try something different and leave my comfort zone for a while. My motivation to study abroad is to challenge myself and experience a country currently in no attachment to the United States. Cuba is a country that is deeply rooted in so much richness and beautiful people. I had no expectations of going to Cuba; I already knew what I was getting into the minute I chose to go there alone.... I enjoyed listening to and witnessing everybody in Cuba. I am glad I got to go to a country where it is underrated and not where everyone goes. One must have the right mindset and right motivation to visit Cuba and not expect the glitz and glamor.”
