FoundCare Offers Free HIV Testing
FoundCare, Inc., a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center, is offering free HIV tests at multiple locations throughout Palm Beach County in honor of National HIV Testing Day, June 27.
This free event is designed to provide free rapid HIV tests which are confidential and non-evasive. A healthcare professional will use a cheek swab during the painless procedure. Test results are final within minutes.

Grant Opportunity: 2018-2019 Tau Grant
The first cycle of Tau Grants this year will support Capacity Building. Grant applications should show how the organization aligns with Allegany Franciscan Ministries' mission, and impact at least one of the social determinants of health. Requests up to $10,000 will be considered.
The three social determinants of health that will be addressed for the first cycle are education, economic stability, and health & healthcare.
Organizations with an operating budget of $2 million and over are not eligible for Tau Grants. Please see our website for more information about eligibility and limitations.

From End Rape Culture: "Join us for FREE Jiu-Jitsu and Kenpo-based self-defense classes. This course teaches survivors and potential victims of sexual assault how to defend themselves in the event of a potentially dangerous situation.

Mental Illness Workshop
One in five adults in the U.S. experience a mental illness in a given year. Youth (ages 13-18) experience rates comparable to this. Unfortunately, the data also show that a significant number of those affected are not treated or are inadequately treated. World Refugee Day in Lake Worth
This year, members of the Palm Beach Area Refugee Task Force are organizing a World Refugee Day event to be held in Lake Worth. The event's theme this year is "Many Cultures, One Nation" will take place at Palm Beach State College Lake Worth Campus in the Duncan Theater. We have sought the participation of federal, state agencies, Palm Beach County public officials, community organizations, and media. The event will include a naturalization ceremony by USCIS. During this event, various refugee service providers will have information tables with resources for the community.
