"Giving"
“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
Mother Theresa
As we approach the coming of the holidays and closing of another year, we can all agree 2020 was a trying year for humanity as we faced the mortality and morbidity rates of the COVID-19 pandemic. Though, as unfortunate as these statistics are, the sad reality is that if we measure mental illness by the same standards, the numbers would prove to be a far greater pandemic. One of which a face mask and social distancing could never prevent, and a vaccine to eradicate mental illness is not even a thought in the scientific community.
“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” ― Charles Dickens
With this said, the Demitasse Players have labored over the past five years to help bring awareness to mental illness and to assist in removing of its taboos so easily placed on the victims of mental illness by humanity. By presenting original plays to educate, inform and to entertain our audience with moving dramas to bring mental illness down to a personal level.
“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” ― Winston Churchhill
The COVID-19 pandemic has also had a devasting impact on the performing arts by the cancelling of all live performances. The Demitasse Players a 501(c) (3) is reaching out to all our friends and supporters to ask of you to help us assist humanity in distress by making a donation so we can continue to create and present new works to assist in bringing awareness to mental illness.
“You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”
Kahlil Gibran
On behalf of the Demitasse Players, we thank you for all your support and wish you the best of the holidays. And hope you can make the New Year’s resolution of helping us straighten the crooked timber of our humanity. Be well, be happy, be safe, be nice! The Best of the Holidays
Existentially,
Rich and the Demitasse Players
