We are about to enter one of the busiest social justice months of the year, Pride Month, and that coincides with Community Shares' end of the fiscal year on June 30. All year, we have kept our umbrella high serving as our community's only federation for social justice, environmental, or animal welfare charities, helping make possible their direct service to some of our community's most vulnerable populations.


As we end our 29th year of service and prepare to kick off our 30th year, we invite you to invest in our community's most vital resources, its marginalized people, by supporting Community Shares and our work on LGBTQIA+ equality, reproductive freedom, gender equity, racial equity, welcoming immigrants, environmental sustainability, conservation, pet care, economic justice, civic engagement, criminal justice reform, affordable housing, and so much more.

Join The Local Charitable Umbrella For Social Justice, Environment, and Animal Welfare

There are still a few days to prepare your application to join Community Shares as a member organization! Our member charity application is on our website here and is due by June 1.


Any nonprofit in one or more of our three subject areas may apply for membership in the region's only umbrella for social and economic justice, environmental, and animal welfare charities. You'll benefit from our capacity-building training, fostering collaborations, fundraising, advocacy, and mentoring emerging local charities through our Social Justice Incubator.


Simply complete our application and email it with required attachments to dgordon@cintishares.org by June 1 (or if the attachments are too large for email, send them via a file sharing app or we can provide a link to a Google Drive folder to upload them). Within a few days, we should be in touch to set up an interview with members of our Membership Committee, who will ask questions about your organization and your application. If they vote in favor of membership acceptance, then our Board will sign off and you'll be a full member able to participate in all of our activities including our fall/winter workplace giving fundraising campaign at about two dozen different workplaces in the community.


Dues, which are a sliding scale based on your organization's annual revenue, may be remitted with your application or they will be invoiced and are due before the end of our fiscal year on June 30.
