Girls Inc. Selected as #EqualityCantWait Challenge Finalist
This International Women's day, we’re proud to announce that Girls Inc. has been selected as one of 10 women-led finalists for the #EqualityCantWait Challenge, which will award $40 million to help expand women’s power and influence in the United States by 2030.

The Equality Can’t Wait Challenge, hosted by Pivotal Ventures, Melinda Gates’ investment and incubation company—with additional support from MacKenzie Scott and Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, and managed by Lever for Change—was created to accelerate the pace of progress toward gender equality in America.

The Challenge will provide funding for innovative, women-led solutions that enable more women, particularly Black, Indigenous, and other women of color, to be in positions to make decisions, control resources, and shape policies and perspectives in their homes, workplaces, and communities.

Program Spotlight: We are Proud to Partner with The Philadelphia Chapter of The Links
The Philadelphia Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is partnered with Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey to transform the lives of girls and young women through mentoring, wellness and education.

This partnership seeks to reduce the literacy-based issues that plague young people of color, particularly those in the African American community. Participants engage in activities focused upon literacy engagement, are introduced to female-empowering texts, engage with a variety of professionals, and receive positive views of academic ability and health awareness. Additionally, participants are engaged in activities which are designed to increase agency through advocacy and personal growth as well as political acumen.

This partnership also provides an opportunity for Girls Inc. participants to engage with female professionals. Specifically, authors, explorers, illustrators, wellness experts and politicians have presented during program sessions.
