226th General Assembly Underway
Taken from Rev. Dr. Diane Moffett, President and Executive Director of the Presbyterian Mission Agency, ...
The 226th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) kicked off this morning with a livestream plenary from Salt Lake City! Echoing the prayer my friend, the Rev. Ruth F Santana-Grace shared this morning, I thank God for each and every person participating in GA 226 and serving our church.

Let us keep our commissioners and young adult advisory delegate in our prayers as they begin their work today for the 226th PC(USA) General Assembly! May we pray for them by name: Rev. Melanie Smith, Ruling Elder Felica Ezell-Gillespie, Rev. Dr. David Burgess, Ruling Elder Matthew Miller, and Young Adult Advisory Delegate Amelia Burgess! May we pray for a spirit of discernment, good energy, and safe travels for deliberation of one week online followed by a week in person in Salt Lake City, Utah! Thank you for your service to the larger church, faithful commissioners!

Taken from Rev. Dr. Chris Keating, "It is impossible to quantify the ways Eric's talents, faith, and love have shaped our church. Quite simply, his talents and faith filled our lives with joy. His contributions shaped our church in innumerable ways across two decades. He lead us in singing our laments following the September 11, 2001 attacks, and inspired songs of praise and delight for 17 years of Christmas and Easter services. He made weddings and funerals memorable for countless families, and coached our choirs to excellence. We truly were blessed by his friendship and gifts."

Friends,
I apologize for causing confusion and inconvenience. The BOP Overview will be held on Tuesday, August 6th at 6:30 p.m. The original date conflicts with the Public Witness Book Study and I do not want folks to have to choose between the two.
Peace,
Liz Rolf Kanerva
