MHCH Weekly Communication

Our next meeting is Thursday 4.25.2024 at 11:00. Please let me know if you would like to share a case, or a topic with the group.

Be sure to update your cases and check the Hub for any matches. I also ask that you go into your organizations and make sure your Organization Preferences completed. This is how the Hub matches the community providers to the cases. If it's not completed, your organization won't match.

*Todd testified this past Monday at the legislature, along with Nexus on the topic of Out of State Children's Residential Treatments. The presentation was from Minnesota Department of Human Services & Mental Health Providers. Todd spoke about the MHCH during his time.

The link to Todd’s testimony - he begins at 1:12:15, but the whole session is interesting.

Exciting News to Share!!!

The Twin Cities Business Journal has selected the Mental Health Collaboration Hub as one of the 10 honorees for their Community Impact Award for 2024!

This is an extraordinary achievement that recognizes the profound impact that our work together has had on so many children and their families. We will be featured in their April/May issue. Stay Tuned!

Data Supporting the Reduction in Boarding Days with the MHCH

Todd Archbold was able to get enough raw data to calculate the direct impact of the Mental Health Collaboration Hub in reducing the number of days boarding. Between October 2023 and end of March 2024, we had 117 cases entered and 89 have discharged. When we analyze the 73 cases that were entered between October and end of January, a total of 69 have discharged as of today (95%). When we sort them by month of admit and calculate the days spent boarding, we have discovered a 55% decrease in the time they spend boarding as a result of MHCH and the “Getting to Yes” community! Wow!!!

A few key takeaways:

  • From October 2023 to January 2024, the MHCH resulted in a 55% reduction in days boarding, or 24 fewer days.
  • 80% of youth entered in MHCH were able to discharge under 45 days.
  • The growing MHCH community matters!
  • It’s all about showing up for our little starfish!

Below is the latest "Impact Update" from the MHCH. This is being distributed to the legislature this session via Kirsten Anderson of AspireMN and others. Note that as of 3.26.24, these numbers are already outdated as we have now had 285 cases on the Hub, there are 182 organizations and 422 users.

The Innovations in Mental Health Conference is coming up May 8th!

There is a cost to register, and Katie Richburg from Newport is happy to give discounts or scholarships to our Collaboration members if cost is a barrier.
