Our first-annual FTR 5K Walk/Run for Recovery was a huge success. With the help of so many different volunteers, contribution from every single one of our pillars, and our wonderful community partners, we were able to bring over 300 people to the event, with close to 200 people participating in the race.

Thank you to Kendalls Media for volunteering their time and resources to help document this amazing day. Check out this link to view the photos from the event!

Member Spotlight!
This month, we want to acknowledge Mason Storms. Mason represents the all of our values at FTR. Mason first came to FTR just before the Wellness Challenge. Mason came 5 days a week, without fail, for the entirety of the challenge. Mason transformed. Not only did he become stronger, he became more confident in himself and in his recovery. Mason encourages everyone else in class, makes sure he connects with the new person, and always brings his best to every class. We are proud to have him as part of our member family.
FITNESS PILLAR
FTR Certification Workshop
We want to give a HUGE shoutout to the folks from Greenwich Crossfit who made the trek out from Connecticut to learn and grow with us this past weekend. We also want to give a HUGE shoutout to Shea for joining in on the fun. We are excited to have four new members of the FTR family to carry our mission to their own communities and help spread the message.
New Interns!
It is with so much excitement and honor that we introduce our three new interns. Andy, Ally, and Julia are shining examples of the values and energy we want to see at FTR. Across the next few months they will be learning alongside Vickie and our other coaches to grow into coaches themselves. If you see them around, say hello and get to know them. They each have so much to offer to this community.
NUTRITION PILLAR
Behind the Curtain: Energy Bites

There's nothing better to fuel your workouts and feed your soul than these round delights. They are protein-packed, delicious, and easy to grab and go. So many of you have been asking for the recipe.

We Listened.

Monthly Meal-Prep Menus!

Our incredible Nutrition Team has brought their heads together to create a new system for all of you meal-prep fiends. We are going to be releasing each each week's menu for the upcoming month, in every newsletter. All of the folks who are getting their grub on can now see what's in store each week! Check out the menu every month from right here in the newsletter or on our Facebook Page. Things are cookin' in our FTR kitchen, so sign up on MindBody ahead of time to make sure you get your grub on!
New Staff Alert!

Meet Bryan. You may have seen him sweating it out in a workout or greeting someone new with a smile. Well, Bryan brings all that and more to the kitchen as our new Food Service Coordinator.

He's helping with meal-prep, keeping the kitchen running like a well-oiled machine, and making sure all of your favorites are stocked in our FTR Fridge.

We're so excited to have him.
CREATIVE EXPRESSION PILLAR
Congratulations!

To those who have completed the Beats, Rhymes, and Life training for Hip Hop therapy, we congratulate you. Our own Tony Ollerton, Ben Bilderback, Kate Losser, Andres Galvan, and Karson Henley have successfully completed the program! We are so proud that our staff and community members continue finding ways to give back and be part of the mission. Congrats!

Coming Up...
Our Creative Arts pillar is working on creating some art pieces for Recovery Day, happening on September 11th. Talk to Kate or Tony about details, and help us show how creative the FTR community can be.
As a reminder, our music classes are on Wednesday's from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Friday's will now have a rotating creative arts class that include, creative writing, hip-hop, drawing and watercolor painting, and ballroom dance. Sign up on MindBody and come find connection through music and community!
COMMUNITY SERVICE PILLAR
Service Opportunity!

Saturday, June 17th, we are going to be passing out waters around Salt Lake to those who might need a little help cooling off during this record-breaking summer heat. Talk to the Kate or Maara to get involved.

We are also going to be collecting water bottle/snack donations at the front desk between now and the 17th. If you're in the giving mood, drop off a case of water or snacks!
Thank you LDS Foundation!
We would like to thank the LDS Foundation for their continued support of Fit To Recover. With their support, we will expand our existing fitness, nutrition and creative arts programs to at-promise youth, Summit County Drug Court participants and women and mothers in recovery.
