Get Involved: RA Committees Seeking Applications
Covenants Committee
Reston Association is accepting applications for a South Lakes seat** on the Covenants Committee for a two-year term. Members of the Covenants Committee have an opportunity to impact the community by working with neighbors to keep their homes well-maintained. The Covenants Committee protects the integrity of property values in Reston by administering the Use and Maintenance Covenants set forth in the Reston Deed of Dedication. The time commitment is a 1-to-3-hour meeting on the third Wednesday of the month, plus property inspections prior to meeting dates, based on availability.
** Please note that applicants for the Covenants Committee position must be a property owner within the South Lakes District (LINK to district map)
Elections Committee
Two volunteers are also still being sought for a three-year term on the Election Committee. The Election Committee is responsible for overseeing the administration of the election, reviewing and certifying all candidate statements and petitions, conducting election orientations and candidate forums, administering rules and making determinations related to candidate campaigning, and annually reviewing and making amendments to the form and content of the election ballots and materials. The committee also considers requests for rulings, reviews and tests election ballots, and announces the results of the election. The Elections Committee meets the second Tuesday of each month from September through May.
For consideration for any of RA’s committees, please complete the committee volunteer application.
Applications are being accepted through June 28th, and applicants will be interviewed at the Board Work Session on Thursday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m.
