January Kicks off with Ruoff Mortgage Receiving Honor

Ruoff is a home-grown, family-owned business and community involvement is important for their philosophy. “We believe that with any good leadership team you have is to invest in people first,” explained Sheer. “Finding good people that are involved and engaged in their communities helps us establish connections. The more successful an individual is in the business will, in turn, be able to provide back from the community.”

Kevin Pritchard, Senior Officer, has been with Ruoff Mortgage in Bluffton since 2017. Pritchard is an active member in the community through various organizations. “We are very fortunate to have someone like Kevin that gives so much of his time and talents to the community. Taking opportunities to do what we can in our local communities makes an impact for making dreams come true,” stated Sheer.

“I love networking and getting to know people,” stated Pritchard. “One of my favorite events to help organize is the Junior Achievement Purse Bingo for 425 women. That is a fun event! Getting in front of people helps my business and making lasting friendships is a huge plus. We are also proud to be a major sponsor for the Street Fair concerts.”

Ruoff Mortgage offers residential loans such as FHA, USDA, VA, Conventional, and IHCDA. The loans could be for new home buyers, investment properties, second homes, or refinancing. Ruoff Mortgage is ranked in the top 100 mortgage companies in America by Mortgage Executive Magazine. Ruoff Mortgage is the official mortgage partner of the Indianapolis Colts and has strong sponsorship ties to many other sports venues, including college, semi pro, pro sports teams, and NASCAR..

Ossian Rotary begins Annual Shoe Collection

Ossian Rotary has collected over 3,000 pairs of used shoes to repurpose them to those in need over the past three years. This year’s annual shoe collection is beginning now, in conjunction with the nonprofit organization Changing Footprints. As its mission, Changing Footprints realizes the great need for shoes around the world as protection from diseases and a gateway to education. Shoes in any condition are collected for homeless, disaster-stricken, or underprivileged people locally, nationally, and internationally regardless of race, religion, gender, or ethnicity. Even damaged or single shoes are converted to playground material.

The organization collects and redistributes 60,000 pairs a year and, on average 80% of the shoes collected are redistributed in Indiana, although shipments of shoes were also recently sent to Ukraine to help those in need there.

Shoe collection bins are located at Ossian Elementary School, First Baptist Church of Ossian, Farmers and Merchants Bank in Ossian, Ossian Church of the Nazarene, Ossian Health Communities, and Rod’s Rustics on Main Street. Shoes pairs should be tied or bagged together.

Ossian Rotary meetings are Thursday mornings at 7:30 at the First Baptist Church of Ossian, 1001 Dehner Drive on the north side of Ossian. Anyone is welcome to attend. Please call 260-402-8272 or email jeffkeplar@gmail.com with questions.
