Want to Record Video? Visit the One Button Studio

Thinking about adding some video content to your courses? The One Button Studio in the former Multimedia Production Studio in the Franklin D. Schurz Library is a digital video production room that requires no prior production experience. The studio is available for use by IU South Bend students, faculty, and staff, and is made possible by the  IU South Bend Center for Distance Education and  University Information Technology Services.

Use the studio to:

* Record a podcast
* Use green screen to create visual effects
* Rehearse speeches or other public presentations
* Create videos for instruction, student group promotion, or group projects

Reserve studio time at the kiosk in the library lobby or at:  http://libcal.iusb.edu/booking/mediaroom

Questions about the One Button Studio? Contact Joel Langston at  jblangst@iusb.edu or 520-5550.

Library Instruction Comes in a Variety of Formats

Subject librarians are available to meet with your classes for a brief overview or a full class research session. Interested in library instruction but finding you do not have a class session to give over to a librarian? No problem! We have a wide variety of instruction possibilities, including (but not limited to):

  • Audio Tours (available on MP3 players at the reference desk)
  • Course webpages with links to critical resources
  • Embedded librarian in Canvas
  • Tutorials
To schedule an instruction session, please complete the Library Instruction request form at https://www.iusb.edu/library/forms/libinstructionform.php selecting your subject librarian's name from the listing, or just e-mail your subject librarian directly. Not sure who your subject librarian is? Check here.

Subject Guides Provide Best Sources for Disciplines

Each major has a corresponding library subject guide, where your subject librarian has linked to databases and additional resources related to your department's needs. Please check them out today and feel free to provide feedback on how we can tailor the guides to meet your students' needs.

There are also several guides that have been made specifically for courses. Interested in a guide for your course? Contact your subject librarian.
