Wednesday September 8th | 9:30 am – 2:00 pm 
Pomeroy Nature Preserve
Location: Near Stroudsburg

Join us for the annual United Way Day of Caring! This year we will clear and mark a new trail along the picturesque McMichaels Creek on Pomeroy Nature Preserve. If time permits, we will also further our restoration initiatives by removing invasive species and cleaning up trash deposited by recent flooding. Pizza, snacks and water will be provided! Boots, long pants and bug spray recommended. 
Thursday October 7th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 
Pomeroy Nature Preserve 
Location: Near Stroudsburg 

Help remove Japanese barberry and other invasive shrubs from the restoration area. 
 Saturday October 16th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 
Glen Run Nature Preserve 
Location: Just south of Stroudsburg

We will continue our work of removing burning bush (aka winged wahoo) in the floodplain of this preserve, focusing on large diameter individuals using a chainsaw. Ear protection is recommended.
Thursday November 4th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 
Jonas Mountain Nature Preserve 
Location: Near Effort 
 
We’ll be removing autumn olive and other invasive shrubs from this preserve. 
Saturday November 13th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 
Fieldstone Farm Nature Preserve 
Location: Mt Pocono 

We’ll continue our effort to push back against woody invasive species at this photogenic preserve.

Pollinator Walk

ForEvergreen Nature Preserve

Stewardship manager Matt Schultz will lead a walk around the preserve, stopping to admire pollinators on the many flowering plants that grow here.

Virtual online talk

Learn all about migration! Avian expert Jackie Speicher will teach you how to identify hawks in our area and share how important Pennsylvania is for their migration. This event is in preparation for our guided migration hike at Hawk Mountain on Sept. 16th, but anyone is welcome to attend the virtual talk.

Hawk Mountain (Kempton, PA)

Meet us at 10AM on the mountain! Join Jackie to observe the incredible fall migration of Broad-winged Hawks, Osprey, Bald Eagles, American Kestrels and more. With a range of trails (varying skill level options) and lookout points, there is something for everyone. Entry fee: $10/$7 seniors.
