Drs. Spero Manson and Dedra Buchwald invite postdocs and junior faculty to apply to the next two GUMSHOE grantwriting coaching group cohorts
Hone your grantwriting skills and gain insight into the process of submitting an NIH research grant proposal by participating as an NRMN GUMSHOE mentee!  

When: GUMSHOE is a 6-month long program offered 3 times in 2016.  Each program will hold a 3-day in-person kickoff event and will focus on a distinct population. Apply now for one or both of the next cohorts.

Population of Focus:   African American/Black populations
In-person kickoff:  September 28-30, 2016 in Detroit, MI    
Application deadline: September 5, 2016 at midnight CDT

Population of Focus:  Rural populations
In-person kickoff:   October 19-21, 2016 in Spokane, WA
Application deadline: September 26, 2016 at midnight CDT 
 
NRMN offers up to $1,000 to support each participant's travel expenses related to attending GUMSHOE in-person sessions.

Learn how 35 faculty and staff representing 16 institutions across 11 states have delivered over 60 workshops reaching over 1,200 mentors and mentees from New York to California, South Dakota to the Virgin Islands. 

Coming Soon - NRMN Health Research Talks
Starting in late summer 2016, NRMN will be releasing a series of videos on health disparities research entitled NRMN Health Research Talks. The 8-video series will provide professional development information for rising independent investigators in fields related to community-based health and health disparities. Expect the first video, led by University of Alabama-Birmingham's Mona Fouad, MD, MPH, later this summer.
