VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Juvenile Protective Association

1707 N. Halsted

JPA envisions a world where no child ever has to struggle alone. They work to achieve this by bringing compassionate, innovative mental health resources directly to children in need and the adults who support them.

Join JPA as they relaunch WeROCK (We Reach Out to Chicago Kids)! Impact the mental health and well-being of Chicago’s youth by volunteering in a Classroom Engagement Session or Supply Drive. Visit their website to learn more and get started!

Lincoln Park Community Services

1521 N. Sedgwick

Lincoln Park Community Services (LPCS) serves adult individuals ages 18 and up from all across Chicago who are at-risk of or currently experiencing homelessness.

The LPCS community of volunteers plays a major role in carrying out their mission. You can help by signing up to cook or donate a meal, teach a class, work a front desk shift and more!

Newberry Library

60 W. Walton

The Newberry Library is an independent research library that has been free and open to all since 1887. The Newberry fosters a deeper understanding of our world by inspiring research and learning in the humanities and encouraging conversations about ideas that matter to diverse audiences.

The Newberry Library is looking for public facing volunteers to help them engage the public with their work. This includes activities such as greeting guests, giving tours, and assisting with programming.

Urban Rivers

1440 N. Kingsbury, Ste. 005

Urban Rivers is a non-profit dedicated to transforming urban waterways into wildlife sanctuaries by building floating gardens and parks in the Chicago River. The gardens are full of native wetland plants as a habitat for wildlife and create accessible community green space for all.

Their volunteers, known as River Rangers, help them transform the Chicago River in a variety of ways, including kayaking to remove trash, planting and maintaining gardens, or participating in citizen science projects.
