Cobb County Golf Course Ranked 14th Best Golf Course in Georgia

Cobblestone Golf Course, a premier public golf destination alongside Lake Acworth, has been rated the 14th best public golf course in Georgia by Golfweek, a leading national golf magazine. Owned by Cobb County, Cobblestone remains a top choice for golfers in the Metro Atlanta area. The course boasts an expanded clubhouse, practice areas, Champion Bermuda greens, white sand bunkers and a lakefront design by renowned architect Ken Dye. Other accolades include a four-star rating by Golf Digest and inclusion in Golf Magazine's “Top 100 Courses You Can Play.”

Columbus-Muscogee Councilwoman Hosts 3rd Annual Juneteenth Jubilee Celebration


Columbus-Muscogee Councilwoman Toyia Tucker teamed up with her local Juneteenth Jubilee Commission to host the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Jubilee Celebration. This event honored the legacy of freedom and fostered cultural unity, celebrating African American traditions, history, and achievements. Tucker also serves as the consolidated government representative on the ACCG Board of Managers.

Henry County Unveils Tiny Library Fire Station


Henry County Fire Rescue recently unveiled a new addition, a tiny library filled with books and fire safety education materials. The unveiling was celebrated by community members and local leaders including Sparky the Fire Dog. Throughout the year, more tiny libraries will be installed within the county.

Haralson County Purchases New Ambulance


Haralson County acquired a new ambulance with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. The vehicle will be operated by Ambucare EMS to better serve local residents' emergency needs.

ACCG Governmental Affairs Associate Takes HB 581 Discussion to Counties

ACCG Governmental Affairs Associate Dante Handel visited Talbot and Habersham counties to discuss House Bill (HB) 581, the Property and Sales Tax Reform bill. During these visits, he provided insights into the notice of assessment, millage rate setting procedures, and the bill's potential impacts. HB 581 changes several ad valorem tax provisions and introduces a new local sales tax aimed at property tax relief.
