Glynn County Connects with Students Through Summer Basketball Program

Glynn County introduced a free summer program called Friday Night Hoops, designed specifically for 7th to 10th graders. Facilitated by county officials such as the county manager, parks and recreation staff, firefighters, and police officers, the initiative offers students a safe and engaging environment. The program was created by Glynn County Manager William Fallon.

Henry County Hosts Juneteenth/Father's Day Festival 


Henry County recently hosted a joint Father's Day and Juneteenth Festival at Village Park. The event featured delicious food, live music, and many opportunities for fellowship among community members and county leaders.

Douglas County Breaks Ground on New Fire Station


The Douglas County Fire/EMS Department broke ground on Fire Station #9 in Lithia Springs. The station is a $10.3 million state-of-the-art facility funded by Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) and is a key component of Douglas County’s strategic plan to bolster public safety infrastructure. Positioned in a key industrial area, the new facility will provide enhanced protection to nearby businesses, including Google, Switch, and Microsoft.  

Floyd County School Resource Officers Enhance School Safety Skills


The school resource officers from the Floyd County Police Department participated in the 2024 Georgia Association of School Resource Officers and Educators (GASROE) conference in Athens-Clarke County. This annual event equips officers and educators with training on school and student safety.

Jackson EMC Hosts County and City Officials at Braves Game

County commissioners from Jackson, Hall, Madison, and Athens-Clarke counties convened with city and state leaders during a Braves game, hosted by Jackson EMC. ACCG Associate Director of Governmental Affairs Martha Revelo was also in attendance.

ACCG Managers Participate in Mini-Retreat


The ACCG management team participated in a mini-retreat held in Fayette County. Members of the senior management team discussed topics ranging from workplace culture, streamlining processes to increase business efficiencies, and improving the approach to conference agenda creation to ensure event content resonates with county officials.
