ACCG and Georgia Counties Recognized with Clean 13 Awards
ACCG, along with five Georgia counties, recently received Georgia Water Coalition’s Clean 13 Awards. Wilkes, Madison, Oglethorpe, Elbert and Warren counties along with the Savannah Riverkeeper and ACCG were recognized for their efforts to raise awareness about soil amendment pollution issues. Their advocacy led to additional funding from the Georgia Department of Agriculture to strengthen the agency’s regulation program. Additionally, former ACCG Associate Director of Governmental Affairs Kathleen Bowen was honored for her work in getting the fees collected for the Hazardous Waste Trust Fund dedicated so that they could be used as intended.
