Camden County Holds Groundbreaking for New County Health Department

The Camden County Board of Commissioners recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the County's new Department of Health facility. The new facility will serve as a cornerstone in the community, offering essential healthcare services and preventative care to residents.

Union County Sees Great Impact from Glass Pulverizer


Union County has installed a state-of-the-art glass recycling technology that transforms broken bottles and other glass into safe sand and pea gravel-sized materials. These finished products, which have no cutting edges, are then used to build roads, enhance playgrounds, and improve other county facilities.

Dawson County Clerk Receives Master Clerk Status


Dawson County Clerk Kristen Cloud recently received her Clerk Masters Education Management Development Program certification from the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government (UGA CVIOG).

Harris County Unveils New Observation Tower


Harris County hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new observation tower at Ellerslie Park. Standing at an impressive 75 feet tall and featuring 87 spiral stairs, this distinctive structure was made possible through a $700,000 investment. The project received funding from a local private foundation as part of a successful public-private partnership.

Henry County Honors Former Parks and Rec Director with Wall of Kindness Mural


Henry County recently unveiled the Wall of Kindness mural outside the Heritage Park & Recreation Building to honor former Parks and Recreation Director Tim Coley. The mural celebrates Coley's lifelong dedication to the County and his impactful recreation programs. It includes a wall box for community members to share warm-hearted messages, spreading kindness throughout the community.

Houston County Celebrates Renovated County Health Department



Houston County Board of Health Chairman Daron Lee, alongside health department staff, local elected officials, and community members, celebrated the remodeled and expanded Houston County Health Department at a recent ribbon cutting event. The project, funded by American Rescue Plan Act funds, addressed the need for increased capacity, modernization, and improved capability to serve the rapidly growing population.

Fayette County Holds Ribbon Cutting for New Animal Shelter


Fayette County celebrated the grand opening of its new animal shelter. The new shelter offers expanded accommodations for shelter pets, featuring a pet grooming station and a spacious outdoor walking area, ensuring a comfortable and enriching environment for the furry friends awaiting adoption.
