SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE MONTH EVENTS

SOHL_Image_FF.jpg

January is Sanctity of Human Life Month, a time to memorialize the millions of innocent pre-born babies killed by abortion. Please join Georgia Right to Life in observing Sanctity of Human Life (SOHL) Month by attending one of the many events being held across the state.

It is also a time of prayer when we draw near to God in the name of Jesus Christ, asking Him to end abortion, to end crimes against personhood, and to comfort millions who have been hurt by abortion. Please join us in prayer...

We've prepared a video for

Sanctity of Human Life Month

Georgia Right to Life has prepared a video to be used by churches in the observance of National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, a special day of remembrance for the millions of pre-born babies lost to abortion, and

a day of prayer for the legal protection of pre-born children.

Georgia Right to Life encourages churches to share this video during January, National Sanctity of Human Life Month; and especially on January 17, 2021, National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.

National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is celebrated annually on or near January 22, the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade ruling in 1973. In addition to remembering millions of pre-born babies lost to abortion, Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is also the day we acknowledge God's sovereignty over all human life, the inherent worth of every human life, and the truth that we are made by Him in His image (Gen. 1:26,27 and Ps. 139).

Republican presidents since President Reagan have traditionally designated Sanctity of Human Life Sunday to be the closest Sunday to January 22. Notable portions of the January 22, 2018 presidential proclamation* read as follows:

All Life is Sacred

"We observe National Sanctity of Human Life Day to affirm the truth that all life is sacred, that every person has inherent dignity and worth, and that no class of people should ever be discarded as “non-human"."

Reverence For Every Human Life

"Reverence for every human life, one of the values for which our Founding Fathers fought, defines the character of our Nation. Today, it moves us to promote the health of pregnant mothers and their unborn children. It animates our concern for single moms; the elderly, the infirm, and the disabled; and orphan and foster children."

Medical Science Proves the Humanity of the Unborn

"Science continues to support and build the case for life. Medical technologies allow us to see images of the unborn children moving their newly formed fingers and toes, yawning, and even smiling. Those images present us with irrefutable evidence that babies are growing within their mothers’ wombs — precious, unique lives, each deserving a future filled with promise and hope."
