GENERAL NEWSLETTER
November 19, 2018
We are grateful every day for the hard work and dedication that all of you do to improve the lives of those who have behavioral healthcare needs in our state. With you, our victories and successes have been plentiful. In addition, our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by the recent tragedies and disasters this holiday season. Our deepest gratitude to those who responded, helped and showed kindness in helping these communities face these emergencies during this time of year when it should be filled with jubilee. We share our deepest thanks for the outpouring generosity of every community aiding those who have experienced loss this season.Thank you to all those providing mental health support during this challenging time, including our behavioral health partners and member agencies. We thank you.

From all of us at California Council of Community Behavioral Health Agencies, we wish everyone a grateful thanksgiving.

The ALS Golden West Chapter held it's Champions for CARE and a CURE gala last Friday in San Francisco and honored Rusty Selix, who received the Dean & Kathleen Rasmussen Advocate of the Year Award. He wasn't able to attend, but spoke during this video tribute, and was saluted for "leveraging his expertise and influence in the public policy arena as a powerful spokesperson to advance the Chapter’s commitment to providing care and discovering cures for ALS."

Christine Stoner-Mertz, LCSW, CBHA Board President and Lincoln President and CEO, and Paul Curtis, CBHA Executive Director, were honored to attend and celebrate Rusty's ongoing advocacy efforts and achievements. Below is the ALS Golden West Chapter tribute to Rusty and more on the Essey Awards.
