AGA National Convention Early Registration Pricing Ends November 1!

Registration is now open for the 53rd Annual AGA National Convention held November 29-December 1, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the Omaha Marriott Downtown at the Capital District. Click the link below to register for the convention. Convention details including a schedule and a link to book hotel reservations can be found on the Convention Page under the membership tab on Gelbvieh.org. Plan to register by November 1 for early registration pricing!


Registration is $150/adult and $100/youth (ages 8-21). Pricing is per person and includes all three days of convention with access to each event. After November 1 pricing will increase to $180/adult and $125/youth.


All individuals registered for convention by November 1, 2023, will automatically be placed into a drawing for a chance to win a one-year AGA membership. The drawing will take place at the Bull Pen Session and those entered must be present to win.

The American Gelbvieh Foundation (AGF) is currently accepting entries for the upcoming Steer Challenge and Scale and Rail Contest. Steers should be delivered December 11-15, 2023, to Kinsley Feeders, located near Kinsley, Kansas. Members Invited to Nominate Additions/Removals to AGA Approved Judges List

The AGA national show committee would like to invite the AGA membership to join in their efforts to provide exhibitors of future AGA and AGJA sanctioned shows with qualified judges compiled within a well thought out and dilberated list. Current committee members feel that input from the membership regarding potential individuals to be added or removed from the current list of AGA approved judges would serve the association well.


The link provided below provides any active AGA members with the opportunity to suggest a name for the AGA national show committee to review in the weeks leading up to the 2023 AGA National Convention. Members may fill out this form completely and return it to the association via email to jake@gelbvieh.org or mail directly to the office at 1001 S 70th Street, Suite 215, Lincoln, NE 68510, postmarked no later than November 1, 2023. Please use one form per person and be sure to designate whether the individual is being recommended for addition or removal from the current list.


Discussion and final approval will be made at the national show committee meeting during the 2023 AGA National Convention.

The American Gelbvieh Association (AGA) nominated committee recommends the following seven candidates to fill the five open positions on the AGA board of directors. Additional nominations may be accepted from the floor during the annual meeting.

The election for the AGA board of directors will take place during the AGA Annual Meeting at 10:00 a.m. CST on Friday, December 1, 2023, during the 53rd Annual AGA National Convention in Omaha, Nebraska.


Any member who is unable to attend the AGA annual meeting may request an absentee ballot by phone, email, or fax for the board of directors' election. To obtain an absentee ballot, a member must submit his or her request for an absentee ballot to the American Gelbvieh Association office (1001 S. 70th Street, Suite 215, Lincoln, NE 68510) not less than 10 business days (November 16, 2023) prior to the annual meeting. Any member who requests an absentee ballot must be in good standing with the Association at least sixty (60) days prior to the annual meeting.


Ballots must be returned to the AGA office by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023, to be counted at the annual meeting during the AGA board of directors' election to be held Friday, December 1.

Ensure Your Membership is in Good Standing to be Eligible to Vote

As a reminder, to be an eligible voting member at the AGA Annual Meeting, or for absentee ballots to be counted, the membership must be in good standing with the Association, which means that membership dues must be paid, and the account balance must be current. The AGA Annual Meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. CST on Friday, December 1, 2023, during the 53rd Annual AGA National Convention in Omaha, Nebraska.

National Sale Consignment Opportunities

The National Sale will be held during Cattlemen's Congress on Monday, January 1.

National Sale and Bull Futurity DNA Testing Submission

All DNA testing on animals consigned to the Gelbvieh and Balancer National Sale or participating in the Gelbvieh or Balancer Bull Futurities at the Cattlemen's Congress should be submitted by November 1, 2023. Please remember the average turnaround time for DNA testing is approximately four to six weeks. In order to make the DNA testing process as efficient as possible, and to ensure results are received in a timely manner, all DNA orders for registered animals must be made using the AGA Online Registry Service.


National Sale animals must have a DNA profile, be qualified to both parents, and tested free of all four monitored genetic conditions.


Bull Futurity animals must have the GGP-100k profile, be qualified to both parents and tested for all four monitored genetic conditions.

AGA Photo Contest Entries are now Being Accepted

We are currently accepting entries into the annual AGA photo contest. Submit photos of bulls, cows, calving and calves, out to pasture, working cattle, sale season and show ring. The top three photos will be displayed at the 53rd Annual AGA National Convention held on November 29-December 1, 2023, in Omaha, Nebraska. The photos will also appear in the January issue of the Gelbvieh World.

Points for the 2023-2024 show season began after the 2023 AGA National Show in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and will continue until the end of the 2024 AGA National Show at the Cattlemen's Congress in Oklahoma City.

Jake Renner, AGA member and youth activities coordinator, will be in contact to confirm the tickets requested and receive payment. The winning ticket will be selected during the National Gelbvieh and Balancer Sale on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Cattlemen's Congress. The winner does not have to be present to win. If the winning ticket takes the $1,000, the donation heifer will be auctioned off live during the national sale.
