A letter from the director... 
Thank you to all the incredible players that participated in Gateway Camps, Tournaments, and practices this summer.  We celebrated our 32nd summer of Gateway Field Hockey and we couldn't be more proud of the past, current, and future of Gateway Field Hockey.  Thank you to the amazing parents, grandparents, and siblings who shuttle the athletes to and from field hockey events and support the athletes on the sideline unconditionally.  We invite all K-8th graders to participate in Gateway Fall Club, League, and/or Academy beginning in August and September!  Best of luck to all the high school athletes that start their tryouts this week or next week!  St. Louis has over 30 high school teams that compete all fall for a the State title at the end of the season!  I look forward to reffing many of your games this season.   We look forward to hosting 62 teams in the largest High School tournament in the country over Labor Day weekend, the Gateway Classic.  Feel free to contact me at gatewayfh@gmail.com if you have any questions!

REGISTRATION  IS NOW OPEN For Gateway Fall Club, League, and Academy for K-8th Graders!
 
This fall Gateway will  offer programs for athletes in grades K-8th.  The high school athletes are in their season during the fall, so the focus is solely on the youth!  

Please check our website at  www.gatewayfieldhockey.com  for information and to register for Gateway Field Hockey fall Club, Academy, and League.

2017 Gateway Classic Field Hockey Tournament Schedule
The Gateway Classic is the largest high school field hockey tournament in the country.  With 62 Varsity teams and 12 JV and C teams competing in various level pools over the course of four days it is sure to be a great weekend!  Below you can find the Varsity

Gateway U16 Club finishes strong at National Club Championship!
 
The U16 Gateway Elite Club Team recently qualified and competed at the National Club Championship.  Only the top 16 teams in the country qualify for the Club Championship held annually in July in Lancaster, PA! The team finished with three wins and three losses, two of which were by a tight one goal margin. Everyone on the team contributed a ton each game, it was a total team effort!  The team consisted of rising freshman, sophomores, and juniors from various schools in St. Louis!  We are so proud of all of you and look forward to next year!

Makenna Webster shines at the 
National Level 
in both field hockey and ice hockey! 
Many athletes are great at one sport, but not often does an athlete shine at the highest level in two sports.  Long time Gateway Club member has done just that.  This summer, Makenna was selected for the National Futures Championship, Stars and Stripes Game, Junior Olympics Junior National Camp and then from there the   STX Select Camp  
where USA Field Hockey will select the U17 National Field Hockey Team in December.  On the ice, Makenna was selected for the Select 66 camp and most recently she has been selected for the
where she will compete for a spot on the U18 National Ice Hockey team.  Both of these final camp/tournament opportunities are comprised of the best 30 athletes in the country! Congratulations to Makenna for an amazing accomplishment and we are cheering for you on the ice and the turf!

Congratulations to the following girls on their selection to the National Futures Championship!  These girls competed on various teams at the prestigious event held in June in Lancaster, PA.

Lily Baker and Mia Duchars compete at Junior Olympics this Week in Michigan! 
Congratulations to Lily Baker and Mia Duchars who were both selected for the Junior Olympic Games held in Detroit, Michigan this week.  Lily and Mia were both selected for the Junior Olympics after their impressive performance at the National Futures Championship!   You can follow along with them here!

Six Gateway girls selected to the Under Armour Select Game by College Connection! 

At the conclusion of the College Connection camp in June, six Gateway athletes were selected to play in the Under Armour Select Game in Boston, MA in July!  Lily Baker, Makenna Webster, Skyler Lesslie, Caroline Carr, Mia Duchars, and Arden Lily all performed well at the UA Select Game!  Great job girls, we are so proud of you!

At the conclusion of the National Futures Championship, USAFH announces their selection for the Stars and Stripes all star game!  Gateway was well represented by Mia Duchars and Makenna Webster in the U16 division! Congratulations to both girls!

Gateway Club Teams Finish 1st in U16 and U14 at Firecracker Tournament!
 
Thank you to all the teams that competed in the Gateway Firecracker Tournament in June!  Over 30 teams competed in various pools of all age divisions!  The weather was absolutely amazing and it was a great showing by all!  Gateway Club finished in 1st place in the top pool of U16 and U14!  Way to go girls!

Gateway U14 Team competes at USAFH Bash at the Beach!
The Gateway U14 team recently competed at the USA Field Hockey Bash at the Beach Tournament.  Our girls competed in a strong pool finishing 4th place!  The tournament was held in hot temperatures in Virginia Beach, VA in July!  The team was coached by Mara Simpson and Gateway players competing were Brecken Calcari, Mia Simpson, Lauren Gallagher, Esther Pottebaum, Grace Pottebaum, Anna Lochhead, Audrey Woods, Tori Burch, Jenna Bernstein, and Sydney Acker.
