Garland Power & Light's Power Restoration Process

Have you ever wondered how Garland Power & Light restores electric service after a local power outage? Once affected areas are assessed, crews begin repairs as safely and quickly as possible on the equipment that will return power to the largest groups of customers first. Crews then work on smaller and smaller groups, with individual service lines being repaired last. Learn more by watching this power restoration video.

As a reminder, always report your GP&L power outage by calling 972-205-3000 or texting OUT to 972-205-4000. Even if your neighbor has reported their outage, your home could be on a different electric circuit or there could be damage to your home’s service line. These automated reporting systems will record your outage directly into GP&L’s outage management system.
