Kaukauna Schools Exceed Expectations, #thankskasd, Coach of the Year, DVC Survey and more!

Dear KASD Friends and Family,

Did you know that this week is American Education Week? During this time each year, schools across America reflect upon and celebrate the daily work of educators.

I feel that this is a fantastic time to celebrate the great work being done in the Kaukauna Area School District. Every day, staff and students come to school ready to put in the work; and we're succeeding.

Below you'll find information about the release of School Report Cards. Kaukauna is proud to announce that, as a district, we are "Exceeding Expectations." This is, no doubt, the result of the effort and passion that we see daily within Kaukauna Schools.

During a month in which we reflect upon that for which we are thankful, I would like you all to know that I am grateful to be a part of such a strong district and community, and I look forward for all that is to come.

Congratulations, and #thankskasd.

Enjoy the Galloping Ghost Stories,

Mark P. Duerwaechter, Superintendent

KAUKAUNA SCHOOLS EXCEED EXPECTATIONS!

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) released School Report Cards on Thursday, November 17, 2016. All schools within the Kaukauna Area School Districts have shown improvement, and continue to move forward. One school received the distinction of "Significantly Exceeds Expectations," while four others earned places in the "Exceeds Expectations" category. Read more here ...

WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR?

KASD's New Directions Learning Community recently published a post about a parent presenting a teacher with a special "thank you." That got us to thinking ... we know we have a lot to be thankful for within Kaukauna Schools, but we'd love to hear more! Tell us what your thankful for. Share your stories or notes with us on social media and include #thankskasd.

SPREAD THE WORD - KASD IS THE PLACE TO BE!

The Kaukauna Area School District has been in the process of updating its database to plan for future student enrollment.  A population difficult to reach sometimes are families of children who live in the district but are not of school age.

Do you know anyone living in Kaukauna that isn't yet attending a KASD school?  If so, please forward them this newsletter using the link at the bottom or have them visit our enrollment page on the Kaukauna Area School District website to complete our census form.  This information will also be helpful when we mail 4-year old Kindergarten Registration Forms.

Thank you for your help!
COMING SOON ... WINTER.

We live in Wisconsin. That means that, much to our dismay, severe weather is just around the corner.

But what can you do to stay informed about District delays and cancellations? We'll make it easy ... just check out the Severe Weather Procedures page on the KASD website. You'll find everything you need to know to stay informed, from our school-wide messaging system to the district website to social media and local television and radio stations.
BE ON THE LOOKOUT ...

KASD's  District Vision Committee is seeking input from you, our community. We want to know your thoughts on how you think we're doing, and more, where you see us going! Our survey is being prepared, and should be in your mailboxes at the end of this month. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. Your opinion is very important to us as we continue to improve and create our path to success.
