Save the Date: Punched Tin and Poet Laureate Exhibition

Join us for the opening reception of the Punched Tin and Poet Laureate Exhibition!


Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 5 - 7 pm

Gallery One, 1 Civic Plaza NW


The exhibition includes punched tin frames for poetry excerpts for each Albuquerque Poet Laureate and additional artwork samples by artists Esteban Durán, Josh Bond, Justin Mayrant, Michael Worthen, Richard Gabriel Jr., and Roberto Gallegos.

2025 Call for Exhibitions

Do you have a great idea for an art exhibition at Gallery One in 2025? The Public Art Urban Enhancement Division seeks art exhibition proposals for Gallery One at Albuquerque City Hall in 2025.


Exhibitions can fall under the following 4 categories:

  1. Community/Group Shows, defined as 3 or more artists
  2. Theme Shows, defined as exhibits curated by the Public Art Urban Enhancement Division
  3. State or Regional Exhibitions
  4. Special Partnership Exhibitions (local, national, and international)


The goals and mission of Gallery One is to foster an intersection between Albuquerque artists, the community and City government that engages and draws new, diverse audiences and provides more exhibition opportunities to local, emerging artists. The gallery space serves as an educational resource with exhibitions that complement and support existing Public Art programming.

August is National Black Business Month and the City of Albuquerque Office of Black Community Engagement would like to highlight your company during the CABQ Food Truck Friday on August 30, 2024.


Black Owned Businesses are welcome to offer an Informational Table, or Retail (no food vendors). If you have interest in a food truck, they will connect you with that department. This invitation to Black Owned Businesses may include:

  • Artists/Musicians/Dancers/Poets

Request for Qualifications: An Iconic Public Art Installation for Salt Lake City's West Side

The Salt Lake City Arts Council's Public Art Program, in collaboration with Salt Lake City Public Lands, West Side residents, and project stakeholders, is seeking to commission an artist or artist-led team to create an iconic public art installation for the West Side, to be located in the Glendale Park, the City's newest regional park, currently under development.


The selected artist or team will be responsible for developing their design and concepts in close collaboration with Salt Lake City's West Side communities, who have expressed a desire for an artwork that fosters a sense of community and belonging and reflects their shared values, culture, and history. The total budget for this commission is $425,000.

McLean Community Center Calls for Artists

The McLean Community Center (MCC) in McLean, Virginia is looking for artists for two public art projects: a mural and a typographic sculpture.


MCC offers activities for adults, teens and children, including a wide range of classes, lectures, study tours, camps, art exhibits, theater performances, and specialty shows.

The McLean Community Center is accepting qualifications from artists or artist teams for a work of art at the Old Firehouse Center.


The selected artist/team will design, fabricate and install a permanent mural that will express civic pride, showcase the diversity of the community and provide placemaking for the area. The artist/team will engage with the community to inform the mural design.


The project budget is $30,000.

Typographical Sculpture


The McLean Community Center is accepting qualifications from artists or artist teams for a work of art to be installed in Spring 2025.


The selected artist/team will design, fabricate and install a permanent typographic work of art based on MCC letters/logo that will welcome residents to the McLean Community Center and provide placemaking for the area.


The project budget is $80,000.
