Rec League News

Very exciting things are starting up at new facility! From the very first basket being scored to the first whole weekend of games, the center is definitely getting some, very anticipated, use! We are still using our "community partners" to hold practices and some games but it is our goal for everyone to experience the new and improved GVCO! We were happy to see our GVBL veterans over the weekend along with a wonderful amount of new faces. Even though our first games of the season are exhibition, we still saw some great competitive efforts. The scores will be updated within the next few days in our GVBL app but the standings will not be calculated until week 3. We are looking forward to the start of week 2 tonight in our girls 7/8 matchups!

A gentle reminder, the volunteer coaches are simply moms and dads helping coordinate individual teams, who are communicating with another group of volunteer coordinators, who also are moms and dads here in the community. Those coordinators are getting their info from another set of volunteers who coordinate the GVBL league. So everybody is your neighbor. Everyone is after the same thing, to create a great experience for our district's kids to learn to play basketball, in a competitive and fun environment.

As the season begins, please feel free to send your questions or concerns in an email to basketball@gvco.org and we will get back to you as soon as we can! Also, send pictures from games or practices to this email address to get a chance to be in the newsletter, on the website, or our social medias!

THANK YOU TO OUR LOCAL CORPORATE & BUSINESS SPONSORS OF OUR 2022-2023 GVBL WINTER LEAGUE

Once again, we have had tremendous local support for what we are trying to accomplish with our GVBL winter rec league. Without this assistance, there would be a financial shortfall for equipment, administration and facilities rental. GVBL would like to thank all those who have stepped up to support GVBL. In addition, as always please try and support these local businesses throughout the year, shopping and doing business right here at home.

GVFL Football News

Our GVFL youth tackle football program worked with Kamp for Kids and Joe Conklin again this year to provide a “touchdown experience” for autistic children at the Temple/Navy game last weekend.

"Essentially, our role is to set up an offense/defense and simulate plays that result in a child with autism scoring a touchdown. The kids and their parents have loved it and it’s been a great experience for our kids to give back to those who don’t have the same opportunity to play sports and be a part of teams."

-Josh Willey, GVFL Tackle Football Coordinator

It's time for everyone in our Great Valley community to GIVE BACK. The community's support over the past six years has been tremendous [Donor List (10/18/23) ]. We are asking for help from the entire Great Valley private, public and business community.
