February News from GUSD

Happy New Year!

This is our first official newsletter of 2024. We took the month of January off from our monthly newsletter as our staff and students returned from a well-deserved holiday break, and we settled back into a routine.

Our school communities recently participated in the Great Kindness Challenge, where staff and students practice kindness throughout the week.

And I must extend my gratitude to our School Counselors during National School Counseling Week (February 5-9). We are so grateful for the support and resources they provide our students throughout their time in our District. They are invaluable members of Team GUSD.

Lots of fun events are coming up in our District over the next few months, including: Read Across America, Run for Fitness, and our annual Future Chefs competition. There is always so much going on at our schools that provide fun memories for our students and families.

I hope to connect with you at upcoming school functions or events in our community.

My best,

Anisha Munshi, Ed.D.

100 Days Smarter!

On January 31, we celebrated 100 days of school in the Gilroy Unified School District for the 2023-24 school year. Many elementary school students dressed up as "100 year old people" to commemorate the day. Other students brought in a special collection of 100 things to share with their classmates. We celebrated 100 different ways, but we all celebrated 100 days smarter!
