I don't know about you, but I believe Puxtsatawny Phil got it wrong ..... spring is right around the corner! Ok, maybe that's wishful thinking but you have to admit, the past few days of blue skys and sunshine tells us spring is right around the corner! I love spring! The greening of the grass, flower bulbs coming out, trees budding .... that which is dead or dormant is new again. My Mom's tulips, daffodills, and iris' are coming out and we are waiting with anticipation as they grow. Spring reminds me of the huddles that have have come to life again at Hicksville High School and Middle School. It has been a blessing to be apart of them especially to listen to kids talk about Jesus. The Holy Spirit is definitely moving!

Meet Eli, a freshman from Hicksville High School. Eli is a part of the high school huddle. He approached his high school huddle leader with the interest of leading a middle school huddle! He felt the Lord leading him and is praying to become a pastor after high school. He is leading the middle school athletes through THE CORE. He has done wonderful job in connecting with them. I would say a natural! Please pray for him as he balances school, baseball, and leading.

Below is a listing of the current huddles, their leaders and the days they meet. Please pray for them!

FCA Huddle Shares Valentine Love

Fairview’s FCA Huddle spent a little time on a Sunday afternoon visiting and delivering Valentines to residents of the Bryan Care & Rehabilitation Center. Around 30 student athletes participated. And I’m quite certain that they walked away just as blessed as the residents!

2023 Theme ......GREATER !

John 3:30 "He must increase, I must decrease."

You Are More Than Your Sport

As a coach or athlete, it can be difficult not to get wrapped up in the pressures of being a competitor. It is essential to understand that you can find your identity and worth in something more than your sport. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with training and working hard to develop as an athlete or to make your team championship potential as a coach. However, it’s the shift in your perspective that is everything. When you can compete with the mindset that Christ is enough and rest in the promise that it is far less about what you achieve and more about who God says you are, you will discover your greater purpose as a competitor.

2023 LEADERSHIP Camp Theme Overview

“He must increase, but I must decrease.” JOHN 3:30

As competitors, we always dream of something Greater. We train tirelessly to reach our potential, seeking approval from teammates, coaches and fans. The promise of a trophy or praise pushes us to succeed. Our identity becomes about our performance—how well we play, not who we are. The pressure to succeed fuels our purpose to compete every day. But what happens when our season ends, or we don’t perform well? What does it say about our potential or our purpose? The world will say we’re not good enough—that we’ve failed. But Jesus Christ says differently.

GREATER POTENTIAL: There is Greater potential in my life than finding my identity in sports.

• Greater Way - There's a better way to reach your fullest potential. And it's the ONLY path that will truly get you there. (John 14:6)

• Greater Truth - It's not just a greater truth. It's THE Truth. When you embrace the truth of Jesus, you experience freedom from the pressure to perform and see the purpose behind the gifts that God has given you. (John 8:32)

• Greater Life - This is what Jesus offers you through a relationship with Him. More joy, peace and purpose through a life focused on Jesus. (John 10:10

GREATER PROMISE: Jesus Christ’s promise of salvation gives me a new identity.

• Greater Love - God's promise is only possible because of His great love for you—even to the point of sacrificing His own Son. (John 15:9)

• Greater Gift - Salvation is the key to a relationship with God and the promise of eternal life. (John 3:17)

• Greater Identity - There is no more confusion about who you are and your self-worth when you join God's family. (John 1:12)

GREATER PERFORMANCE: My new identity in Christ gives me a new way to perform.

• Greater Fuel - God is your Creator and He knows (and through Jesus will give) what you need most to glorify Him in all areas of your life. (John 6:35)

• Greater Freedom - Performing for Him first allows you to stay untangled from the world's expectations of you as an athlete and as a disciple of Christ. (John 8:36)

• Greater Fruit - More than just athletic performance, staying connected to Jesus will produce godly characteristics in your life. (John 15:8)

GREATER PURPOSE: My purpose is to play for Someone Greater.

• Greater Glory - Understanding your greater purpose reminds you that the glory goes first and foremost to God! (John 13:31)

• Greater Team - Understanding your greater purpose means you will look for ways to share God's love with others. (John 15:12-13)

• Greater Thing - Understanding your greater purpose will launch you into a new mission and will exceed your wilfest expectations. (John 14:12)

You are more than a coach.

You’re a leader.

A guide.

A mentor.

Your athletes look up to you for guidance in every area of life—physical, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual. But, you can’t give what you don’t already have.

FCA wants to help you become the best coach you can be. We’re here to help you experience transformation and wholeness through Jesus so you can reflect Him to your athletes. We call this being a 360 Coach.

Join us this summer for a getaway designed specifically for coaches and their spouses. We get the challenges you face and want to strengthen your marriage to stand the test of time.

Coaching can be tough. So can marriage. The two combined are sure to put even your best game plan to the test. Sometimes, you need to call a timeout. Win where it matters most - at home!

Thank You!

Thank you just doesn't seem enough to say for all your prayers, encouragement, time and support. You ROCK! My prayer for you:

The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make his face shine on you

  and be gracious to you;

the Lord turn his face toward you

    and give you peace.”’
