A Gift From Ford’s Theatre – Radio adaptation of A Christmas Carol

As many locals know, for more than 30 years, A Christmas Carol at Ford’s Theatre has been a treasured holiday tradition. 

Unable to open their doors to live theatre, Ford's has created a special radio broadcast, featuring many of the local actors who have been part of the show for the past several years.

You can listen to the radio broadcast on Christmas Day at noon on WAMU-FM, or even better yet, you can listen to it on the Ford’s website anytime between now and January 1.

So, order some goodies from one of our restaurant members, get yourself and your family dressed in their PJ’s, make some hot chocolate and snuggle down to listen to Dicken’s A Christmas Carol.

Banaji Pediatric Dental Specialists has taken many steps to keep their staff and patients safe during the Covid Pandemic.

Some of the things they’ve done since re-opening in May:


· On-Site laundry with a full-time person dedicated to laundry, instrument
sterilization and disinfecting.
· Employees arrive for work in street clothes, then change into freshly laundered
scrub uniform, head covering, full length clinical gown, N95 mask covered by a
surgical mask and face shield.
· Additionally for the entire day, Pediatric dentists wear a powered air purifying
respirator, N95 mask covered by surgical mask and head cover.
· Cavicide and Optim1 products are used for surface disinfection and there are
alcohol based hand sanitizers throughout the premises.
· Temperatures are taken daily, both of visitors and staff.
· Doors are locked and only screened visitors are allowed inside.

Kudos to Banaji Pediatric Dental for taking such precautions to prevent the spread of Covid 19. Thankfully most of GMBA’s members do not have to go to such lengths.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
No one goes all out for Christmas like the Merrifield Garden Center. Founded in 1971 by Bob Warhurst and Billy Williams, this has been the place to go for all things Christmas since then.

From a freshly cut Christmas tree, to a realistic artificial one, from ornaments for every possible scenario to a breathtaking Christmas cactus, you’ll find something to please that hard to buy person or something perfect for that one spot in your home or office that looks bare and lonesome.

If you haven’t felt the Christmas Spirit yet this year, go spend a half hour wandering around their shop. It will be just what you needed.
Merrifield Garden Center is practicing safe Covid protocols, so don’t leave your mask behind, and safely distance yourself from their helpful staff members and the other customers.
