A Letter from GKC-PRSA

By Adam Burns

A Thank You and Nudge to All GKC-PRSA Members

As we continue to approach the midway point of 2023 — uh, what? — I wanted to take a pause and provide a big THANK YOU and a gentle nudge to GKC-PRSA members.

Thank you for being a valued member of GKC-PRSA. We appreciate your membership and commitment to the local public relations community more than you know. We’ve seen a lot of you at our events thus far in 2023, and it’s been great to connect and get to know you through our programming! We’re grateful to have you with us as we aim to provide the very best PR and communications professional development programing.

Here’s the nudge.

To those who have not yet attended an event in 2023, take a time out and take full advantage of your PRSA membership — both at the local and national levels!

Here’s how.

Consider attending this Thursday’s in-person event on non-fungible tokens and how to communicate on the topic for a brand. As more and more business leaders consider NFTs, stay ahead of the curve and gain knowledge from local marketing expert Kasey Skala at “What to Know about NFTs and How to Craft the Message.” Register here and come say hi. I’ll be there so there’s one friendly face (I think?).

Also, join our own Anita Parran for our next DEI book club meeting via Zoom on May 18. Happy reading!

Meanwhile, have you been wanting to learn more about artificial intelligence, how it’s transforming the industry, and best practices you can apply to your organization’s PR initiatives? The PRSA Midwest District is excited to offer “The Intersect of AI and Public Relations” webinar to GKC-PRSA members on Thursday, June 8 at noon. Send a chat to a coworker and register now here!

Stay tuned to our website for information on a June happy hour and more professional development and networking opportunities this summer and beyond!

Here are the upcoming — and free! — national professional development webinar opportunities I’m looking forward to:

More learning opportunities can be found here.

We’d love to see you and learn if there’s anything we can do to improve our chapter’s offerings. See you around.

And, again—thank you.

PRSA Midwest District Webinar

The Intersect of AI and Public Relations

Thursday, June 8 // Noon-1 p.m.

The implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has rapidly transformed all aspects of our lives. In particular, it has revolutionized the way in which we consume and create content. In an industry built on influencing, engaging and building relationships, what is the role of technology?

Register to join our live webinar and hear how national PR experts tackle this imperative topic. Is it ethical to leverage AI in PR? How are PR students using AI to impact future generations? Learn how AI is transforming the industry and capture best practices you can apply within your agency, client or in-house PR initiatives.
