I’m excited to announce that the 2024 PRISM Awards are now officially open for entries!


This year’s awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, and I encourage all of you to consider submitting your outstanding work.


The PRISM Awards celebrate the exceptional talent and creativity within our public relations community. Whether you’ve launched a successful campaign, executed a strategic communications plan, or developed innovative PR tactics, this is your chance to be recognized for your hard work and impact.

GKC-PRSA Coffee Chat


Are you a new member and have questions about accessing online resources and registering for chapter events? Are you a current member and want to get more involved?


Join us for an informal coffee chat on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at the Opera House Coffee Emporium.


We can show you how to register for chapter events and how to use the myPRSA resources from national PRSA.


Registration isn't required, and there is no fee.

Crisis Resiliency: Mastering Risks, Relationships, and Responses


One of the most important tools in a PR pro’s crisis tool kit is knowing your risks, managing organizational dynamics, and building executive relationships.


Build your crisis resiliency by attending GKC PRSA’s Sept. 11 meeting where PR pros, Janine Smiley, Kate O’Neill Rauber, and social media leader, Brittany VanMaele will address the risks, relationships, and responses when it comes to crisis management.

Missouri Student Awarded $5,000 Inez Y. Kaiser Memorial Scholarship


The GKC-PRSA chapter is excited to announce the winner of the 2024 Inez Y. Kaiser GKC-PRSA Memorial Scholarship Fund Award is Robert Hill, 20, from Kansas City, Missouri.


Hill graduated from Lincoln College Preparatory Academy in Kansas City, Missouri. He attends Howard University in Washington, DC and will be a junior this fall. Hill is majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in sports administration

Hill is the 10th Kaiser Scholar. Contributions to the scholarship fund can also be made, which helps future public relations professionals.


The GKC-PRSA chapter established the Inez Y. Kaiser Memorial Scholarship Fund in 2021. Kaiser was a Kansas City public relations pioneer who was the first Black woman in the nation to own a public relations firm with national clients.
