It is my pleasure to welcome Sheyla Toro to the professional staff at the GHCA in her new role as executive assistant. Supporting both the executive director and director of programs/marketing, Sheyla provides administrative support and management of the GHCA office.

Sheyla comes to the association with a strong background in business administration, member relations and sales.  She's a member of Toastmasters International and enjoys connecting people and resources. 

A native of Barranquilla, Colombia, Sheyla holds an Associates of Science from Keiser University and has lived in the US for over fifteen years.  In her free time, she loves to spend time outdoors with her dogs and teenage son.

GHCA BIKE DONATION DRIVE - CAN YOU HELP?
GHCA is proud to announce a partnership with the Peachtree Creek Greenway initiative to make our community better and more accessible to all. As part of this partnership, the GHCA is asking members and friends to donate new bikes that will be distributed to underserved residents living along the Buford Highway corridor the day of the event. 

The Peachtree Creek Greenway is a multi-use trail under construction along the Peachtree Creek, spanning through the cities of Atlanta, Brookhaven, Chamblee and Doraville once complete. This path and the parks along the way benefit pedestrians and bicyclists, as well as providing green space to connect neighborhoods and enhance livability from Doraville to the Atlanta Beltline.

RECOLECTA DE BICICLETAS NUEVAS ¿PUEDE AYUDAR?
Nos complace anunciar una alianza con la iniciativa de Peachtree Creek Greenway. Como parte de esta iniciativa estamos solicitando donaciones de bicicletas nuevas que se distribuirán a los residentes Hispanos que viven a lo largo de Buford Highway el domingo 20 de mayo en el parque de Briarwood.
 
El Camino de Peachtree Creek es un sendero de usos múltiples en construcción a lo largo de la quebrada Peachtree Creek, que atraviesa las ciudades de Atlanta, Brookhaven, Chamblee y Doraville. Este camino y los parques a lo largo del camino benefician a peatones y ciclistas, además de proporcionar espacio verde para conectar vecindarios y mejorar la la calidad de vida desde Doraville al Beltline en Atlanta.

On Friday, April 27th our Director of Programs and Marketing, Maricielo Fuller visited "En Contacto", a daily program produced by Telemundo Atlanta, to share information about GHCA's programs and events.  We discussed how the education programs at the GHCA play a vital role in strengthening small construction companies in Georgia, helping them to grow and opening doors to larger business opportunities. WORKPLACE SAFETY A TOP PRIORITY FOR OUR MEMBERS
We are proud to announce that our upcoming STEP (Safety Training Education Program) will launch in conjunction with OSHA's Safe and Sound Week in August.   This four week course is intended to help you through the process of updating or creating a formal, written safety plan for your business.

Safe and Sound week kicks off on August 13th as a nationwide initiative to raise awareness of safety and health programs among employers, supervisors and workers with the goal of decreasing and eliminating injury or illness in the workplace all together.

We are proud to join in with OSHA on this important initiative and invite you to participate in the STEP Program (Safety Training Education Program) in August.

Estamos orgullosos de anunciar que nuestro próximo STEP (Programa de capacitación en seguridad) se lanzará en conjunto con la Semana de seguridad y solvencia de OSHA en Agosto. Este curso de cuatro semanas está destinado a ayudarlo a través del proceso de actualización o creación de un plan de seguridad formal y escrito para su negocio.
