Staff & Teacher of the Year Nominations

Nominations are now being accepted for the Teacher of the Year and Staff Member of the Year awards. The PTSA awards three awards yearly at the end-of-year school awards ceremony. It's a wonderful opportunity for students and parents to recognize our excellent teachers and staff. Parents, Students, and Marshall faculty/staff are welcome to nominate someone for the Teacher of the Year and Staff Member of the Year awards. These awards will be presented at the school awards ceremony at the end of the year.

The Teacher of the Year award aims to honor distinguished teachers by recognizing them for their excellence in the teaching profession. We encourage parents, students, and colleagues to submit a nomination form on behalf of a teacher who has impacted their life in a special way. You may nominate more than one Teacher (please use separate forms).

The Staff Member of the Year award aims to honor staff members who provide exemplary service to the GCM Community. Staff members include Administration, Asst. Principals, Custodial and Maintenance, Food Service Staff, Guidance Counselors, Heath and Student Services, Librarians, Office Assistants, Security, Tech support, and other non-teacher related positions. You may nominate more than one staff member (please use separate forms).

If you want to nominate someone, please complete the appropriate Google Form (link below). The deadline for these nominations is midnight on Friday, April 12th, 2024, and voting on the nominations will take place at our April PTSA meeting.

The 2024 Spring Plant Sale is here! Choose from a variety of flowers and plants including vinca, verbena, petunias, begonias, coleus, lantanas and more! You can purchase single plants, flats or hanging baskets. These plants consistently get wonderful reviews from our Marshall families; you will not be disappointed!

GCM Student Peace Award Winner

Congratulations to Marshall's Aymar Ahmed, recipient of the 2024 Student Peace Award. As a volunteer teacher, Aymar Ahmed has made a difference in the lives of young children who live in the Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh. These children had been uprooted from their homes in Myanmar and had fled to the camp. Aymar set up an improvised classroom to teach them basic English and math.

He served food to the children, some of whom took the food back to their families. He also helped with flu shots by explaining what the shot was for. His goal was to establish a secure and supportive learning atmosphere where students could develop both intellectually and emotionally.

Marshall's Own Ilia Malinin Wins First World Figure Skating Title

Congratulations to Marshall's Ilia Malinin who won his first World Figure Skating title on Saturday! Malinin landed six quads in his free skate, breaking the world record with a score of 333.76. Malinin is the only man to land the quadruple axle.

“There was a little voice in my head: ‘No matter what, you have to keep fighting, keep going, no matter how bad you feel you just have to know that you’re capable of,’” Malinin added, per the Olympics.
