Letter from

Vice President

Leanne McCall

Colleagues,

It is my honor to serve as the Second Vice-President of GASSP.  I have been in education for 27 years and began my career as a middle school social studies teacher in the Cobb County School System. In 2008, my family moved to Valdosta, Georgia, where I served at Lowndes High School as an assistant principal and later at the Lowndes County Board of Education as the 6-12 curriculum director. In the summer of 2015, I was named the principal of Lowndes High School.

I joined GASSP years ago as assistant principal because of the encouragement of my mentor, Mr. Wes Taylor. This organization is an amazing way to network with and learn from other educational leaders. I am currently in my ninth year as principal and have called on my colleagues in GASSP countless times regarding curriculum and instructional matters, new ideas for celebrating students and teachers, campus construction initiatives, safety and security processes, and the list certainly goes on. I cannot say enough about the many benefits of being a part of GASSP.

As we begin another school year, I am looking forward to serving our GASSP members across Georgia to make this the best year yet! If there is anything I can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will be attending the GASSP Fall Conference in Savannah and I hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Ms Leanne McCall
