Spots for Internationals Still Open at GAIN23 in Boston!
The German Academic International Network (GAIN) invites all non-German-speaking postdocs and early career researchers to join us and over 70 institutions from all across the German science and research landscape at our Conference and Talent Fair in Boston on August 26th, 2023.
Our Saturday afternoon program will be held in English! There is no attendance cost, and once registered, attendees may schedule one-on-one meetings with any of the many universities, research institutions, and funding agencies represented at the conference. Participants are also welcome to attend any of our group workshops, the Talent Fair, and the Science Slam! The Annual GAIN Conference is an excellent way to learn about open positions, junior research group leader opportunities, paths to professorship, and other careers for researchers in Germany. Join us in Boston for an afternoon of learning, exploring, networking and fun!
The English Program of the GAIN23 Conference and Talent Fair takes place Saturday, August 26th, 2023, at the Marriott Copley Place in Boston.

Who We Are:
The German Academic International Network (GAIN) is an initiative of the German government that is jointly funded by three major research organizations: the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), and the German Research Foundation (DFG).
Our Mission:
For over two decades we have worked to foster transatlantic mobility and cooperation by creating and smaintaining connections between the German research landscape and those of the rest of the world, with a special focus on the United States and Canada. Our members are German-speaking scientists and researchers of all disciplines, who represent leading research institutions worldwide. Through GAIN, members are offered access to our extensive international network, as well as up-to-date information regarding career and funding opportunities, as well as relevant developments in science policy.

Wissenschaftsstammtische sind regionale, informelle Netzwerktreffen von deutschsprachigen Forscherinnen und Forschern, die im Ausland leben. Sie dienen zum Austausch von Erfahrungen rund um den Auslandsaufenthalt, Karrieremöglichkeiten und der Planung für eine Rückkehr nach Deutschland. Die Stammtische werden von GAIN gemeinsam mit der GSO organisiert.

Bayreuth Humboldt Centre – Senior and Junior Fellowship Programme 2024 & Short Term Grants
Since 2019, The University of Bayreuth Center of International Excellence, "Alexander von Humboldt," has been offering funding for research collaborations. Within the framework of senior and junior fellowships as well as short-term grants, international researchers have the opportunity to conduct research together with Bayreuth hosts and thus contribute to the further internationalization of the University of Bayreuth. Short Term Grant Programme
Our Short-Term Grants offer researchers working abroad the possibility to spend one to three weeks at the University of Bayreuth in order to engage in dialogue with a host scientist from the University of Bayreuth. Effective immediately, the Centre is offering Short Term Grants – open to all disciplines, exceptions apply. Travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursed up to a maximum of €3,500.

Senior and Junior Fellowship Programme 2024
With its Senior and Junior Fellowships, the Bayreuth Humboldt Centre enables scientists and scholars working abroad to spend a research stay of 3-6 months at the University of Bayreuth in order to carry out a research project in close cooperation with a host scientist from the University of Bayreuth. Effective immediately, the Centre is offering Senior and Junior Fellowships for the year 2024 – open to all disciplines, exceptions apply. The Senior Fellowships are endowed with €40,000, the Junior Fellowships with €20,000.

Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeitende (Doktorand*innen/Postdoc) im Institut für photonische Quantensysteme
Die Universität Paderborn ist eine leistungsstarke und international orientierte Campus-Universität mit rund 20.000 Studierenden. Im Institut für photonische Quantensysteme (PhoQS) der Universität Paderborn arbeiten Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler aus den Bereichen Photonik, Optoelektronik und Quantenoptik, Informatik, Mathematik sowie Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik gemeinsam an der Erforschung photonischer, das heißt licht-getriebener, Quantentechnologien. Damit dient das PhoQS als Keimzelle für hochinnovative interdisziplinäre Forschung an den Schnittstellen der beteiligten Fächer. Im Fokus stehen hierbei das Verständnis und die Kontrolle von photonischen Quantensimulatoren und Quantencomputern.
Wir suchen zum aktuell mehrere Doktorand*innen und Postdocs als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeitende oder Projektleiter*innen für verschiedene Projekte von Land, Bund und DFG.
