The 226th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) will be held June 25-July 4, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Committee on Nominations of Presbytery of the James is looking to fill several openings for service to the 2024 Assembly.

Into the Church Triumphant | With sadness, we share news that Rev. Dr. Daniel Hale passed away July 31. Dan was ordained in February 1976, retired from Second Church (Petersburg) in 2013, and was serving as the covenant pastor of Rivermont Church. His funeral will be held August 15 at 11 a.m. at Chester Presbyterian. We thank God for Dan's exceptional life. Please keep Dan's wife, Marcia, and their family in your prayers. | |

Rebuilding After Disaster | The presbytery’s Disaster Relief Ministry helped repair five homes on their last trip to Florida in May. Learn about the work they did sharing the love and compassion of Christ with those in need. They are heading back to the area again in October. | |
Help Needed Getting Church Records to Historical Society | Are you heading north to Philadelphia or farther in the coming months? Presbytery of the James is looking for someone to help us transport boxes of church records to the Presbyterian Historical Society. The 10 bankers boxes are about 24” x 15” x 10” each. The presbytery will compensate the driver with a $100 gift card for gas. Contact Barbara Espigh to volunteer. | |
