Pastor Don Brewington, campus pastor at Huston-Tillotson University, has blessed Gethsemane Lutheran for decades with his witness sharing the Epiphany Season message of the glory of God revealed in Jesus. Gethsemane is grateful to have this Baptist brother share his faith and ministry. Pastor Brewington, Gethsemane is honored to share ministry with you and HTU students.

Annual Gethsemane and San Lucas Encuentro/Encounter Weekend
January 12-14
Please pray for those attending this special “encounter” or “encuentro” weekend for Gethsemane and San Lucas congregations to work side by side and expand our vision of ministry together. San Lucas is celebrating their 36-year history and Gethsemane has been a part of that ministry for over 27 years.

Ronald Frederick Kingsbury claimed the promise of his baptism on November 13.
A memorial service will be held this Sunday, January 14th at 1:30 pm at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Austin. Please keep the Kingsbury family in your prayers. Blessed be the memory of Ron Kingsbury.

The Southwestern-Texas Synod is providing additional pastoral support on Sundays for the Gethsemane congregation during the Bishop's Committee investigation process. Special thanks to Pastor Brad Fuerst, campus pastor at the University of Texas Lutheran Campus Ministry (LuMin), for assisting with worship last Sunday. Mental Health Ministry
The holiday season can be an especially difficult time for those struggling with mental health. The Mental Health Ministry team met recently to continue the momentum that started with the mental health grant awarded in 2019. The team is conducting a community needs assessment to discern the next phase of this ministry. Please contact Pastor Susie for more information. If you are struggling with mental health right now, please know that the Gethsemane community is here to support and pray for you.

Annual Souper Bowl of Caring
Sunday, February 11
For 34 years, we've transformed Super Bowl weekend into the nation’s largest celebration of giving/serving. Thousands of youth groups and passionate individuals unite to “Tackle Hunger Together.” Gethsemane youth will greet the community (they will not tackle you) following the 10:30 am liturgy, inviting the Gethsemane faithful to give a gift benefiting the Gethsemane Food Pantry.
