Spring Fun in Southern Indiana

Southern Indiana comes to life in the spring when we host some of the area’s biggest events like Thunder Over Louisville, Abbey Road on the River and, don’t forget, the Kentucky Derby taking place just one mile across the river in Louisville, KY. Experience Thunder Over Louisville in SoIN

A premier event of the Kentucky Derby Festival and one of the biggest fireworks displays in the country, Thunder Over Louisville has graced the skies with a spectacular air and fireworks show for more than 30 years. Locals know some of the best views are on the Southern Indiana side of the Ohio River.

Come Together for Abbey Road on the River

Get back to where you once belonged in SoIN when Abbey Road on the River returns to Big Four Station Park in Jeffersonville, IN May 25-29, 2023.

Abbey Road on the River is the world’s largest Beatles-inspired music festival and is celebrating its 21st year in 2023. This year's festival includes Legends Live! with Micky Dolenz of the Monkees and Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals, BritBeat, Classicstone, Tony Kishman’s “Live and Let Die: The Music of Paul McCartney” and many more!

Grab Derby duds, décor and more during Develop New Albany’s Derby Sip and Shop on April 15! Taste wine from some of the region’s top wineries while perusing spring fashion, accessories and more. VIP and general admission tickets are available for this 21+ event.

Disney On Ice presents Find Your Hero, an adventure filled with tales of heroism from your favorite Disney stories, including Moana, Rapunzel, Frozen, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty & the Beast. Ticketed performances are April 6-9 at the KFC Yum! Center in Downtown Louisville.

You’ll never NOT have an amazing time at J&B Magic Shop and Theatre in New Albany! Get tickets for one of their upcoming shows, featuring acts like Magic Amanda, Orlando Magic’s Sebastian Gerhardt and “Mind Reader” Eric Dittelman.

Catch local bands, regional performers and billboard-charting acts at The Jefferson Venue this spring! The riverside concert and event venue is hosting Velcro Pygmies, Boy Name Banjo, plus O-Town with LFO and more this April.

Join the Juleps & Jazz Cruise aboard the Belle of Louisville to celebrate Mint Julep Month on April 15! Celebrate the Kentucky Derby while supporting the community at SoIN to Derby! This inaugural Derby Eve celebration is May 5 at the newly opened and renovated event space, The Magnolia in Clarksville. Dance the night away while supporting three local nonprofits – Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana, Hope Southern Indiana and CASA.

Explore the Three Brothers art exhibit at Bourne-Schweitzer Gallery in New Albany April 28 through June 3. The exhibit spotlights three contemporary folk-art sculptors – Ed White, Willie Rascoe and LaVon Van Williams, Jr. – all artists working within an African American woodcarving tradition.

The Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana and TheatreWorks of Southern Indiana present "A Midsummer Night's Dream" on April 8 at Charlestown’s Greenway Park. Part of the SoIN Shakespeare Spring Tour traveling throughout Southern Indiana, the performance is free and for all ages.
