Partnerships Get Work Done

The Board of Supervisors, joined by State Rep. Stephenie Scialabba, the Butler County Commission, and PennDOT, gathered to signal progress being made along the Freedom Road corridor.
Freedom Road BUILD 1 is the next step in a multi-year effort to expand and modernize the Freedom Road Corridor. Work was paid for via a $20 million Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage developments (BUILD) grant, which Butler County secured in 2018. Construction began in 2021 and final touches were completed in 2023.
CRANFEST CELEBRATES
CRANBERRY COMMUNITY
Join friends and neighbors at CranFest on Saturday, May 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Municipal Center. Now in its 11th year, CranFest features live dance and musical performances, informational booths, and authentic cuisine from various cultures. More than 20 cultures will be represented during the event.
State Rep. Stephenie Scialabba will host a Hard-to-Read License Plate event from 2-4 p.m. Friday, June 2 at the Cranberry Township Police Department, 2525 Rochester Road.
A license plate is illegible when one or more numbers or letters cannot be recognized from 50 feet away, or if the plate shows signs of blistering, peeling, discoloration, or loss of reflectivity. A $100 fine could be issued for the offense.

A commitment to service from Girl Scout Troop #20546 took center stage during the April 27 Board of Supervisors meeting, with the Board acknowledging the Troop’s Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) Youth Award victory.
Cranberry Township’s participation in the Southwest Butler Stormwater Planning Group earned the 2023 Governor’s Awards for Local Government Excellence: Innovative Planning and Sound Land Use Practices. Supervisor Karen Newpol and Township Manager Dan Santoro represented the Township at the recent awards ceremony.
Join us for the grand reopening of the newly renovated, royal refresh of the Cranberry CUP Kids Castle in Community Park! Set for 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25, the event will feature students from the Seneca Valley School District who will display their handmade paper chain to celebrate the official reopening of the play area. Public is very welcome to attend!
Members of the Cranberry Township Police Department will swap their police uniforms for hockey sweaters to raise money for a championship community organization.
The 2023 Joyce Memorial Police Sled Hockey Fundraiser is set for 4:10 p.m. Saturday, May 13 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, 8000 Cranberry Springs Drive.
The 2023 Cranberry Township Farmers Market will kick off Friday, June 2. It will be held from 3-7 p.m. every Friday throughout the summer in the front parking lot of the Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road.

MARKING MEMORIAL DAY
Cranberry’s annual Memorial Day remembrance ceremony will once again honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Set for 1 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the Veterans Memorial in North Boundary Park, the ceremony is presented by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 879. All are welcome.

Cranberry Township is always focused on keeping cyclists of all ages safe. And that starts with learning the rules of the road, as well as some safety tips for both the rider and their cycle.
That’s the aim of the Township Police Department’s Bike Rodeo, which returns from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24 in Community Park. All are welcome to learn and enjoy refreshments and giveaways.

The Township's Yard Waste Collection has begun for the season. Collection continues through December. Place yard waste curbside in green top cart or biodegradable paper bags. No sticker is necessary during the yard waste collection season, but leaves in plastic bags will NOT be collected.
