2018 Gorman "The Bully" Cabernet Sauvignon
Red Mountain, Columbia Valley, Washington
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This Cabernet blew us away. Seamless and complete, it wears its weight wonderfully. Time in the bottle has served it exceptionally well, integrating its 100% new French oak upbringing impossibly well. We love Jeb’s take...
“Reminds me of a great Pauillac, only on steroids.”
- Jeb Dunnuck, May 2021
The confluence of dusty gravel and graphite-laden black currant and black cherry fruit with classy cedar, coffee bean, and cigar wrapper conspire to make an inarguably delicious and complex wine. A slam dunk 93 Points on our conservative scale, it is a masterclass in quality Red Mountain terroir. Immediately impressive from the pop of the cork, this world class, hedonistic red is for lovers of Cabernet Sauvignon from anywhere in the world.
"Lots of toast, lead pencil, graphite, and darker currants emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon The Bully, which reminds me of a great Pauillac, only on steroids. Based on 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, all from Red Mountain, it’s full-bodied, has building tannins, lots of mid-palate depth, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming 10-15 years. Maturity: 2021 - 2036."
- 94 Points, Jeb Dunnuck (5/6/2021)
"Precise and potently structured, with expressive blackberry, toasty spice and flinty mineral accents that build tension toward broad-shouldered tannins. Best from 2022 through 2030. 1,050 cases made."
- 93 Points, Wine Spectator (10/15/2021)
