Dr. Mia Hall

For Tarrant County Commissioner Precinct 1

From substitute teacher to executive leadership, Dr. Hall climbed the ranks within Fort Worth ISD and has served in all facets of education. She distinguished her leadership as the inaugural principal of Fort Worth ISD’s Young Women’s Leadership Academy earning the National Blue Ribbon Award in 2016 from the U.S. Department of Education. Dr. Mia currently serves as the Executive Director of Strategic Recruitment in Fort Worth ISD.


Born in Fort Worth and raised in Arlington, Mia shares her expertise and passion with the Tarrant County community as a member of the Junior League of Fort Worth, Girls Inc. of Tarrant County Board of Directors, United Way of Tarrant County Executive Board & Community Investment Cabinet Chair, and as the 2nd Vice President of the Crowley ISD Board of Trustees where she has served for three terms since 2015.


During Mia's tenure on the school board, Dr. Hall, in partnership with her fellow board members, community and the dedicated educators of CISD, have propelled Crowley ISD from under-performing to a B-rated district by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and the District is trending towards an "A-rating.” Dr. Hall is a proven leader and she has made it her mission to improve opportunities and the quality of life for Tarrant County residents. Constituents can rest assured that she will protect their rights, advocate for their interests, and lead boldly and courageously. Mia is committed to expanding healthcare & early education, increasing the availability of affordable housing, and improving infrastructure and the operation of the county jail.


Dr. Hall is the proud owner of Mia Hall Real Estate, co-owner of Innovative Air, and recently served as Zoning Commissioner for District #6 for the City of Fort Worth. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin and her master’s degree in educational administration and policy studies from U.T. Arlington. She also has a doctorate of education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Mia and her husband of 22 years, Ibo, have a son, Xavier, who currently attends Clark Atlanta University in Georgia where he plays baseball and studies business.

Patrick Moses

For Tarrant County Sheriff

Reverend Patrick D. Moses (Pat), is a retired federal law enforcement officer with over three decades of experience in the field. He served as the Assistant Director for Field Operations of the Federal Protective Service, the arm of the United States Department of Homeland Security that provides law enforcement, protective investigation and intelligence and security for federal facilities across 23 states. Prior to that appointment, he served as the Regional Director in the National Capital Region (Washington, D.C.). He is a 2016 recipient of the Secretary of Homeland Security’s Meritorious Service Silver Medal for Operation Blue Surge, in addition to many other professional distinctions and awards for his service to national security and law enforcement. Pat is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and he also holds the Texas Certified Public Manager distinction from Texas State University.


Pat has been an active pillar of the Fort Worth community for many years, serving as president of the North Texas Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration; Member of the Board of Directors of the Lena Pope Home for Children and the United Community Centers, Inc.; and as the President of the Board of Directors of the Tarrant Area Food Bank, Fort Worth, Texas. He is also currently serving as the President of the Dover Heights Homeowners Association.


Pat Moses has a Bachelor of Arts in political science (cum laude) and a Master of Public Administration from Southern University and A&M College and a Master of Divinity School from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University. He is completing his Doctor of Ministry degree at Brite Divinity School. He is prepared to effectively serve Tarrant County on day one.


Pat Moses put his life on the line for our country when he entered into military service from Southern University's Army ROTC as a commissioned US Army Reserve officer, and served honorably in multiple posts until he left at the end of his service tour to start his civilian professional life.


As the Pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Pat has devoted his life to serving his congregation with love and compassion in a way that fully expresses his faith and commitment to serve the greater good. Pastor Moses and his wife, Ronda E. Moses, LBSW, MSW, LNFA, Director of Social Services at Healthcare Resort of Plano, are parents to two wonderful children and two beautiful grandchildren.

Dr. Carlos Walker

For House District 97

For over two decades, Dr. Carlos Walker has stood at the forefront of education, championing it not just as a profession, but as a passionate mission to uplift communities and ignite a spirit of ambition in young minds. His dedicated work in his community is a testament to his relentless commitment and visionary leadership, actively shaping the future one student, one community at a time. Dr. Walker, together with his wife Nakisha, has cultivated a family deeply rooted in the values of community and service. The Walker family has become an integral part of Texas life, actively contributing to their community.


Dr. Walker's academic and professional journeys are equally inspiring. His Doctorate and Master's in Education from the University of North Texas, along with his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington, underscore his lifelong dedication to learning. His certifications as a Superintendent and Principal, along with his specialization in mathematics, mark him as an outstanding leader in education. Dr. Walker's career is marked by significant roles and achievements. As Director of the Fort Worth ISD Family Action Center since 2019, he has led initiatives focusing on early childhood literacy, mental health, and adult education. His roles in the Historic Stop Six Initiative and as Principal at Dunbar High School and Morningside Middle School showcase his ability to set and meet high standards, thereby transforming educational practices and outcomes.


Dr. Walker's commitment to the community is unwavering. He founded the Stop Six Mobile Food Pantry, feeding 800 – 1,000 individuals monthly. His partnerships with TCU School of Medicine and Cook Children’s Hospital illustrate his skill in uniting different sectors for the greater good. The numerous accolades Dr. Walker has received reflect his significant impact of his work and tireless efforts to improve his community. Recognitions such as the Texas Governor’s Volunteer Award and awards from Big Brother Big Sister of Tarrant County and FWISD highlight how impactful his contributions have been. His affiliations with Braver Together, Leadership Fort Worth, Leadership ISD, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., further affirm his dedication to leadership and community service.

Rep. Carl Sherman

For U.S. Senate

Rep. Carl O. Sherman has been proven to be a leader in faith, government, and business. A man of strong religious faith, Sherman presently serves in the role of Senior Pastor in the Church of Christ. He was elected in November 2018 to serve as a Member of the Texas House of Representatives.

 

Sherman’s mission is clear: Texas needs a Senator who prioritizes people over partisanship. One who fights for all Texans and doesn't leave anyone behind. He is a champion for democracy, a thriving economy, and civil liberties. His unique background as a small-town city manager, a seasoned businessman, a former suburban mayor, and a dedicated senior pastor equips him to understand and address the diverse challenges faced by rural, suburban, and urban Texans.

 

Both in session and during the interim, he has increased awareness in Human Trafficking issues, hosted a diaper drive in all of 2022, held townhalls to hear from teachers and students after increased mass school shootings, and hosted an annual Hope Summit which focuses on criminal justice reform such as school to prison pipeline and second chance hiring.

 

As DeSoto's first Black Mayor, he orchestrated a remarkable turnaround, boosting economic development and affordable housing. In the Texas House of Representatives, he authored bipartisan police reform in the wake of George Floyd's tragic murder and secured funding for UNT Dallas. His dedication to education, social justice reform, and quality of life for all Texans is evident.


 Rep. Carl Sherman currently lives in DeSoto, TX, where he and his wife of 36 years, Michelle, raised their three sons and two daughters. His greatest joy comes from spending quality time with his family, which also includes eight grandchildren.
