fanning the flames
We released the 2" Compliant Wheel about two weeks ago, and the internet exploded almost immediately with both joy and "OMG ANDYMARK RELEASED A GAME HINT!"

Except that's not our role in all this.  FIRST drops the game hints, we drop the robot parts that have been missing in your life.  But we know our new 4" Compliant Wheel won't help just over a week before Kickoff, so we might as well fan the flames.

AndyMark will be closing at noon Friday, December 30th, and will be closed all day Monday, January 2. Orders placed after 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 29th will begin shipping on Tuesday, January 3.  Additionally, our business office and reception will be closed all day Friday, December 30th.  We hope all of you have a wonderful and safe New Year's holiday.  As Andy likes to say, make good choices.
New 4" Compliant Wheel

You knew we wouldn't just stop at our new 2" Compliant Wheel, right?

Our new 4" Compliant Wheel gives you that same deforming property in a more familiar format.  The rubber material is the same grippy stuff you find in our Stealth Wheels and HiGrip Wheels, and the molded polycarbonate 1/2" hex bore hub derived from our Stealth Wheel provides the confidence you want in that connection.  We've found the 2" version is plenty secure, but we also know some of you are conservative about using brand-new parts in your designs.

Unlike the 2" Compliant Wheel, the construction of the 4" Compliant Wheel makes it a solid option for a shooter wheel as well as the obvious intake and conveyor applications.  We have tested them successfully up to 9,001* RPM by firing old Cascade Effect golf balls through them, and they've held up.  As with any wheeled shooter, please take the appropriate precautions to shield your shooter so fingers stay out.

4" Compliant Wheels are available now in our mid-range (black) 60A durometer and soft (blue) 50A durometer.

*Yes, Nick really told us "9,001".  No, we don't know when he's going Super Saiyan.

PowerPole Connectors
PowerPoles and TRIcrimp: Make Wiring Easy This Year!

If you've been around a while (or came up from FIRST Tech Challenge), you probably know PowerPole connectors are fantastic for creating a clean, secure connection.  And since connectors can be slotted together, you can assemble custom harnesses for, say, all your right-side drive motors or all the power wires going up your robot arm.

There are many places online selling knockoff PowerPole connectors, but we carry the real thing from Anderson Power Products.  The PP45 connector is designed to accept 10 AWG wire,   They're available in 8 red/8 black, 50 red/50 black, and 100 red/100 black packs.

With the   TRIcrimp tool , making well-crimped connections is quick and easy.  We also sell the retention clip that slips into the round hole formed by two connectors slotted together, which ensures extra security in the connection.  We know robots take a beating at competition, so take the extra step and play it safe.
