Reflecting about the past is in our rear-view mirror and looking ahead for the Airport Area is full speed ahead.
And that is exactly what we are doing, looking ahead. When was the last time a major employer announced it will leave a highly visible downtown office to move to the sprawling Penn Center West here in the airport corridor? That was the latest news from Del Monte Foods as they are working to move into the 15,722-square-foot top floor building at Penn Center West, Robinson Township this summer.
News continues to pour out from the International Airport with Salt Lake City – based Breeze Airways selecting Pittsburgh International Airport to serve as one of their first set of destination cities. With Neighborhood 91 attracting multiple corporate interests for its additive manufacturing eco-system and Amazon Air arriving once per day with a massive 737-800F freighter packed with cargo, the list goes on. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg learned about the TMP at PIT International as CEO Christina Cassotis, along with Allegheny County officials hosted the Secretary as infrastructure talks dominated the conversation.
All this is just the tip of the iceberg as our region prepares for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to open the gates of the Southern Beltway bringing with it an influx of commerce, development, and revenue to the local municipalities in its pathway.
So, if you are thinking about locating here and joining the wave of growth and prosperity, get on board.
