Assistant business professor Dr. Shena Bowie in May published a compilation of prayers and strategies for spiritual warfare. The independently published book, "Journal of Warfare Prayers: Strategic Prayers for Spiritual Victory," is aimed at individuals seeking to strengthen their faith and overcome obstacles. The journal offers inspiration, guidance, and a deeper connection with God, helping readers to claim victory in their spiritual battles.

"Beacon Salon Speaker Series"

April's Beacon Salon Speaker Series presentation featured author Elizabeth Randall and her take on "Haunted Florida." Florida has some of the earliest settled areas in the United States and is home to fascinating history. These include tales from Native Americans, early European settlers, and modern Floridians. In some places, people claim that habitants of these historical moments remain. There are fascinating and terrifying stories of lingering spirits all over Florida, especially in the north and southeast. Who haunts America's oldest regions? May's "A World of Difference: Embracing Neurodiversity" focuses on countering learned helplessness. We visit a Georgia private school for neurodivergent students where countering learned helplessness is enshrined in its mission statement. Our panel of national experts explores strategies for empowering students to dodge learned helplessness. And you'll meet our latest Difference Maker, Ky "Rocketman" Michaelson, an inventor and adrenaline junkie who never allowed an undiagnosed learning difference to scuttle his dream of blasting into space.
